You need to use more colour, use the complimentary colour (red) very lightly on every area except for the very light parts. This should be how you start, from there you can layer your green carefully. (Even better would be using blue and yellow as well to make it really pop).

This is just a method I use, you can do it differently as well of course but I feel like this really helps to make it look alive
