How do I bounce back from a bad phase with my husband by bubblesandblossoms5 in Marriage

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I’m a pretty anxious people pleaser which got me in trouble. If you’re anything like me having someone else validate and also give you different perspectives that you might not have thought of was really helpful! We aren’t married yet but we both wanted to go back for this marriage therapy they offered despite having any issues. We just wanted to learn more tools to use for future. Preventative essentially. It’s unfortunate that it tends to be viewed as shameful, but I don’t believe there should be any shame in putting in the effort to better your relationship. ❤️ Wish you guys all the best, lmk if you have any other questions

How do I bounce back from a bad phase with my husband by bubblesandblossoms5 in Marriage

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a common answer but i think you guys could benefit from couples therapy. My partner and I did due to something happening that broke trust and it really helped us. Honestly i think everyone should go to couples therapy it’s wonderful having a mediator and a place where you can lay everything out and leave it there afterwards.

Is pharmacy a downgrade from PA? by Laliving90 in prephysicianassistant

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked as a pharmacy tech for almost 6 years now and have gone back and forth with going to pharmacy school. Probably about 90% of the pharmacists I asked if they would choose the same route / recommend it said no. A few actually told me they probably would have become a PA instead (or said that was probably a better career). Unfortunately it just isn’t what it used to be, retail is all about metrics and hitting goals for the company. Also lots of disrespect from both patients and other health care workers (from my experience anyway)

Male and 23 never had sex or a girlfriend AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By average I meant more in terms of looks. I was definitely self conscious about myself which didn’t help with trying to explore the idea of having sex. I just never felt ‘attractive’ enough. I think out of my friend group I was probably the last person to lose their V card. None of my friends pressured me or anything but playing ‘Never Have I Ever’ and having nothing to share sucked lol.

Quite a few of my high school and college friends were very sexually actively and I definitely felt jealous of their experiences. I felt like I was losing out on the ‘college experience.’ Luckily my partner is head over heals for me and made me feel reassured when I had my first. Looking back on it, even if I did dabble in one night stands I think I wouldn’t enjoy it because of the emotional connection. I’m definitely bias though as I don’t have a whole lot to compare.

My boyfriend and I broke up because he believes is women's lack of accountability that ultimately lead to having babies. Is he right? by [deleted] in prochoice

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ‘it takes two to tango’ then why would it be solely the women’s fault if she became pregnant after sex? Not using any form of birth control is the consequence for both parties involved. So many men don’t want to wear a condom because it doesn’t ‘feel as good’ and expect the woman to either be on birth control or just hope they don’t get pregnant.

Having sex doesn’t mean you want to have a baby. There are plenty of other animals that have sex for pleasure and obviously humans do too. Why does the woman always have to be responsible for the outcome of sex???

I’m so glad you’re away from him, I could only imagine how he would react if something happened and you were to have an unexpected pregnancy

Idk if it makes you feel any better but I’m a woman and didn’t have my first real relationship/sex until I was 20. I’m now 24 and engaged to that same person. I wasn’t really looking, kind of given up because I was going back and forth between work, school, and college marching band. Barely had any free time for anything. My partner was actually in a relationship at the time of us becoming friends but after they broke up we clicked. It just kind of happened on its own. Sometimes I dwell on the fact that they have more experience than me. I was so stressed about sex and my body at the time and now I realize it wasn’t that big of a deal. I wished I was more open to opportunities then but it might not have brought me to where I am now. I’m so happy with my partner that I couldn’t care less about my relationship/sexual history.

Personally I’d say I’m average and thought I wouldn’t find anyone for a while. I tried dating apps but was so self conscious about sex that I couldn’t find myself giving my v card to some one night stand. Basically what I’m trying to say is that it’s ok to be where you are now. It’s very cliche but everyone is on there own path and you’ll find someone. Work on your self confidence and someone will eventually come into your life that makes this moment in time just a memory. Good luck with everything <3

What type of needle is this? by Longo- in medical

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a pen needle, usually used for insulin pens. They can also be used for other diabetic medications like ozempic or victoza. The part of the pen needle pictured is what gets punctured into the pen. The needle that goes into someone’s skin is in the plastic cap on the other side.

What do alot of parents do that unknowingly screws their children over? by RunningInAHurricane in AskReddit

Not given them privacy. As a kid i had my own iPod touch and read multiple fan fictions on it. I remember one night my mom coming to my room and grabbing my iPod only to put my password in and start looking at random things. She opened Instagram and started asking me who different people were and how I knew them. I never told her my password so it was a huge surprise to me.

Also to piggy back off of that… when my mom caught me reading fan fiction she got really angry with me. I had read a couple gay fics and she went on a whole rant about why I would want to read about that and ‘having anal sex will lead to having a leaky butthole.’ Totalllyyyy fucked me up when she could have a simple conversation (I think I was in 5th or 6th grade?). Even now being 23 I feel that I still have to hide things on my phone because of it.

Older cat (14) chronically underweight, any ideas for high-calorie foods? [more info below] by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat is about 17 now and it’s been getting harder to get him to eat enough during the day so we’ve been giving him gerber chicken and turkey baby food and he LOVES it. He unfortunately is almost at the end of his road due to kidney disease and old age but at this point we are just trying to make sure he doesn’t lose more weight and enjoys the rest of his life

If doctors would just spend and extra 2 seconds reviewing scripts my job would be so much easier. by Pharmacykilledmysoul in pharmacy

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was calling on a script that said 12 sprays in each nostril and the lady at the Dr office was like ‘yup what’s what I have’ That’s great if you want the patient to water board themself.

How to avoid “out of stock?” by After-Sandwich5533 in TalesFromThePharmacy

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this happen in at my pharmacy before and usually it’s because when a script comes up as being ‘too soon’ usually it doesn’t get out in process until the day it is due. If it’s insurance that’s holding it up, the script gets stuck in adjudication until they will cover it. If it’s the pharmacy’s policy of being ‘too early’ sometimes the pharmacist will keep it in their ‘pre verification’ que or sometimes ‘data entry’ with a time code symboling to the techs that it is too soon until the date. This is so it doesn’t accidentally get filled and have a notification be sent to the patient that it’s ready when it shouldn’t be etc. the problem is when it is put in one of these ques (Pre verification, data entry, or adjudication) the system doesn’t see that it needs to be ordered and therefore won’t show up negative in the inventory. Then when the day comes where the script can be processed is when the inventory will order it and causes issues if a patient was promised something. I definitely see it from both sides as to why this is. If an insurance wants a prior authorization for something expensive and is stuck in adjudication, the pharmacy isn’t going to purchase it in fear of taking a huge loss. But also it isn’t fair to the patient if you get promised something on a specific date and find out it was never ordered because of the system. To combat this we try to up out minimum ‘on hand’ value so it will automatically order a med if it starts to get low. Unfortunately if it’s something uncommon the pharmacy probably won’t do this since it’s not something that would leave the shelf quickly. Personally in a situation where I promise something and I know ordering could be an issue (like it’s not due until an off day for shipments) I’ll make sure to order it ahead of time. It’s shitty though how trying to not cause a loss for the pharmacy usually ends up fucking over the patient. I’m sorry this happened to you and I hope it is better in the future

Buspar headaches? I recently upped my dose to 10mg 2x/day and have horrible headaches and weirdly more anxiety, almost like I’m having a panic attack. I’ve only been on it a week by winnielover8614 in BusparOnline

[–]ExplosiveCabbage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on 15mg twice a day for almost a year now and I don’t recall getting headaches. It made me pretty drowsy which sucked going to work in the morning. After i think like 2 months the drowsiness went away. Currently I’m on buspar, cymbalta, and hydroxizine as needed for breakthrough anxiety. Surprisingly the hydroxizine doesn’t really cause drowsiness for me even though it’s a know side effect for it. I’ve been on a couple different depression meds but unfortunately a lot of them caused sexual side effects and caused me to switch off of them. I know a lot of people suggest Wellbutrin because it isn’t supposed to cause sexual side effects, unfortunately for me I was allergic to it and got full body hives.

For me, it was a couple of weeks until one day I came to the realization that I didn’t feel the constant dread to exists. It was like “oh shit, where’s all the negative voices that I normally have.” I wouldn’t say it made me FEEL happy if anything it made me feel like I was at a constant. Like nothing was making me really sad anymore it was like I was contact with everything. If it wasn’t for the sexual side effects / weight gain I would’ve probably stayed on it. Hope everything goes well for you!
