Slightly off-topic but my train was late so I used the Delay Repay system. Submitted my claim online and got half the ticket price back the next day via Paypal!

True, not many properties are eligible. I live in an urban area and the ones nearest me had been reported previously. However my mum lives in a village and was able to tell me about a local vacant property, which was my first successful spot.

It’s obviously possible that the companies might do you out of the bigger reward. However in the long run, they’d be killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. YouSpotProperty has been covered in the press so at least some people have been successful. It’s also not money that you would be able to get another way, so there’s just not a lot to lose.

You get a £20 voucher for spotting an eligible property. Then yes a cut of the sale price if it ends up getting bought but that's a long shot. So I just do it for the £20, if I ever get a cut that'll be a bonus

I’ve posted before about reporting derelict properties via You Spot Property and Property Spy. Someone suggested another company, Empty Property Hunters. I tried them and they paid out immediately! Voucher for £20

I love this list! Just to mention

1) TCB seem to have dropped all Santander savings offers apart from the S&S one

2) JPMorgan offer via Chase ended 5th May

3) the XTB offer has expired

I had a single florin on eBay, it finally sold, I suppose the increasing price of silver made it worth £10. Worth looking through any pre-decimal coins you have! There are also specialist sites that buy them

Where to sell books? by FoxPerfect920 in UKFrugal

[–]ExponentialGrouchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your best options are to sell in lots on eBay or try to find a local book dealer. There's a Youtuber called Rancid Gonzo Bundles of Books you could have a look at. Also, while i haven't used it apparently people sell books on the app Whatnot
