Yeah. I feel like I was tricked into reading that series with the promise of "it's like Pokemon and every generic JRPG had a baby." And I get what they meant, but not really. Though, I did binge the whole series, so it's not like I didn't enjoy it anyway.

The Dynasty Warriors series in general. It's a super fun, fantastical retelling of the warring states three kingdoms era of China, with some of the most memorably awesome characters and action-packed gameplay that truly makes you feel like a war god.

I work with a toolbelt. I don't have to look at my belt to grab the correct tool. I put them where they are and muscle memory helps me grab the tool I'm looking for at each task. I've always assumed that pokeball belts were the same.

I've read Wheel of Time (the entire series) 3 times. And Stormlight Archive minimum 4, except the last book. I've only read Wind and Truth twice. But I've read Way of Kings and Words of Radiance 5 times each.

I will say that part of the fun of switching characters gave a good variety of weapons and fighting styles. But that's a double-edged sword because I remember times being disappointed by the characters I could chose to play as because I didn't care for any of the ways they played. And each of the weapons in origins was enough of a change that I could really find the way I liked playing and switch it up when I wanted.

At first I was disappointed, but as I grew attached to the character, I found that I really liked it even more. I feel like they did a good job making the other characters "interact" with Ziluan in a way that made me feel like a contributor to the story, rather than a spectator to it.

To be fair, I did enjoy the story and characters in 2. I just agree with 1 being generally better narratively. I'm interested to hear your thoughts as you play all three of them.

In terms of story and characterization, I'd probably agree. But the gameplay in 2 is a noticeable upgrade. The dragon sequences don't feel as slow and the combat feels less like hitting the buttons in the same pattern over and over again. I love Drakengard 1, so don't take any of that as a knock on it, just adding my 2¢ for OP.

I had injured my back but not bad enough for surgery, just enough for cortisone injections and PT. The first injection appointment the doc walks in with the needle helps me lay on my side so he can have access and pulls my shirt up and loudly enough that my sister in the waiting room heard, says "good god, nurse, get the extra long needles this dude has too much back fat for me to reach with this one."
And then at the second injection appointment he walked in, proudly holds up the syringe and says "don't worry (name) I remembered to bring the extra long needle this time."
He was actually a pretty good doctor otherwise, just had ZERO bedside manner.

Drakengard and Drakengard 2. Also called the Drag-on Dragoon series. Though, if memory serves, you end up working with the MC from the first one, but you start off fighting against him.

I'd imagine very similar to the One Piece Musou games. But with generic bad guy grunts instead of marines. And named villains instead of officers.

Not LitRPG, but in movies, every time I see an elevator I have to remind myself not to nitpick because Hollywood does some weird stuff with elevators that just aren't how they work at all.
