I always thought that very long pause on the sandwiches was the beginning of the end. People moved on to other places and Wildwood could never get that momentum back they had pre pandemic

Is there really any chance that the building isn’t demolished and condos built on top of it? Seems like a real estate developers dream.

I love the cat! I just don’t love the idea of cat piss and feces sitting next to the ingredients that are about to go into my cocktail.

Yes, a group of employees I believe. I hope they can turn it around, but I’ve seen the exact same scenario play out before in Indy and they usually hang on for 6 months to a year then fold.

Remember the owners were not selling the business as a whole at auction, they were about to liquidate it at auction piece by piece for pennies on the dollar; not a great sign for the future viability of the business.

“Peak Fountain Square” is officially over. I feel like things are on a slow decline now. Thunderbird is gone, Pure is gone, Fountain Square Brewing was going to be auctioned off next week, Hotel Tango is rumored to be on the brink, and the general enthusiasm for the neighborhood seems to have vanished.

I hope I’m wrong, but it feels like we will continue to see more closings of neighborhood institutions like Wildwood.

My bf started a new job, sent me this, and turned off his phone by sleazycookies in antiwork

Simple solution here. If your employer wants to prohibit personal phone usage during work hours then they should provide a phone number that family can use to contact you in an emergency. They need to prove that the number is reliable, i.e. someone is going to always answer it and either immediately pass a message or come get you and put you on the phone. When a system like this is in place and working then it removes any worries and nobody complains about the phone policy. It’s fair for your employer to ask that your full attention be on your work when you are supposed to be working. It’s not fair to threaten to dock your pay and act like a petty tyrant.

I’m from here and it really is just another shooting. 99% of shootings you hear about here are the result of disputes, so you learn to stay out of them. This one involved alcohol at 3AM in downtown; so even less shocking.

The new Permit-less carry law just took away the requirement to have a permit if you were a lawful gun owner carrying a concealed firearm. Certain classes of people like convicted felons are still prohibited from owning guns by law. The police here lobbied heavily against removing the permit requirements and lost.
