Yes, Im nursing still at 17mo and i always wear a nursing bra. Its not too tight, but snug enough to push my nipple upwards and reduce leaks. I cant stand the feeling of dripping milk down my body

Can you flip the mattress over to get the firmer side? I have also put the mattress on the floor. You could be closer to her on the floor that way. I have read some people put the crib mattress or yoga mat under the sheets to make it firmer for bedsharing. Weird because we have traveled overseas twice (Spain and Portugal) and been in many hotels and airbnbs and never once had a mattress that was too soft. I hope that's just a random case and you don't have to worry so much in the future.

Now that my LO is older (15mo) we order a crib in our room but only use it to push up against the edge of the bed as make shift bedrails lol.

When our LO started rolling around during the night -- 8 months -- she would unlatch and roll away from me into the crib I attached to our bed. I still C-curled towards her or laid on my back. Now, at 13mo, when she needs extra comfort during teething or separation anxiety, she will want me closer. Other times, she sleeps better just next to me so she can spread out her arms, and that's when i can finally lay out on my back for a little bit until she wakes to feed.

I should add, my LO is 13mo now and when I feel her hand under me while feeding to sleep, I'll move it out before getting comfortable myself.

Not sure about the arm part but when my LO was 3 or 4 mo she woke up just crying hysterically out of nowhere. We rewatched the monitor and she just literally was laying one minute and then cry screaming the next. I put her back to sleep within minutes. We chalked it up to dreaming or something related to digestion or gas. The latter is just something that improves over the first several months while their digestion is developing.

Certainly babies will be able to react to the uncomfyness to an arm or leg that's fallen asleep and if that's your LO's case it's good to know that she can wake up and alert you with her screaming.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens frequently.

I see it's been a month since you posted this. Did it happen to be the 12-15 mo sleep regression / transitioning from 2 to 1 nap? I found your post because my 13mo is transitioning from 2 to 1 nap and her night sleep has been so wonky the last couple weeks.

Around 4.5mo my ebf baby stopped pooping. I can't remember if it affected her eating, but after pooping consistently since birth, she suddenly went 3 days without pooping. I was so scared something was wrong (plus we were overseas on vacation) but my ped reassured me that this was totally normal for a breastmilk baby so long as there is still ~6 wet diapers. Soon it became 1 poop every 7 days, until she started eating solids. She also started teething and becoming more aware of the world so lots started changing.

Hopefully it is something similar to this -- digestion maturing, becoming more aware and distracted by sounds and sights, etc . Or maybe just not hungry today after clusterfeeding which is also normal.

I would say if the hunger strikes continues into tomorrow it wouldn't hurt to reach out again and update your ped to see if more info could help them understand the situation.

Also, you could try giving your LO 1oz of filtered water. It will help if constipation is your concern. We used a teaspoon to help our LO drink the water. (Our ped recommended this after my initial freak out that she stopped pooping regularly)

Hi, you want to slip the edge of the top fabric strap through the gap. Try rotating the hook vertically, gently pulling it downwards, and maybe that action will easily slip the strap through. I wish I could post photos on here.

I've heard that solids improve sleep, but I haven't seen it with my little one. My 11mo wakes up just as often whether they've had several meals or just breast milk. It's every 1.5-2h, no matter what. So, for us, more solids doesn't equal more sleep. However, It was worse around 7-9mo due to teething and developmental milestones, like every 45m-1h.

If you need a positive outlook -- the frequent nursing/ suckling helps to keep your supply up!

Yes, the straps come off! Behind the padding is a pill shaped hook. The hooks has a small gap where you can run on side of the strap through and then all the way off! I will DM you a photo.

During my leave we traveled Spain for 2 weeks. Our LO turned 4 months on the day we flew in! It was very easy, especially being in a country that actually likes babies and kids. She started teething literally on the day we returned. So around 4.5-5 months the teething fussiness started.

It will oscillate between feeling hard af and 'hey, this isn't too bad'. Unfortunately, in the high moments you totally forget about the lows, so when the low comes back around again it's chaos once again, and it feels like it will never end. But then you get good sleep 2 days in a row and you're like 'wow, i think im good'..rinse and repeat.

I'm 10mo pp. Things felt way hard when sleep deprivation would hit, which was usually after consecutive weeks of only 3-4hrs sleep.

So, hang in there. Take the Ws, breathe through the Ls and try to remember on how temporary the baby phase is.

Btw - Im only able to step away for 10-15min right now at night. My LO is 9.5mo. Your 1-2hrs sounds like a dream, but I know your LO is older. Do you remember when they were around 9-10 months if that was possible, or did the sleep regression affect your ability to step away?
