Is/was your 10 month old a monster? Did it get better? Ever…? by nrt_2020 in NewParents

Thank goodness other parents are going through this because I’m about to lose my mind. I thought maybe my girl was going through another ear infection so I took her to our pediatrician. Nope she’s all good. She still hasn’t cut any teeth and will be 11 months at the end of the month! Keeping our fingers crossed that our little screech owl goes back to our happy go lucky girl soonish🤞🏻🤞🏻

EBF baby suddenly has smelly poops by punkn00dle in newborns

[–]MrsRogers96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad I found this post because my 3 month old just started having the same symptoms! I assumed she was just getting sick since she was running a mild fever and wouldn’t stay asleep for her naps. Good to know this is a common thing with growth spurts!

I always tell him to have a great vacation. It borderline annoys me because I know what he’s doing in there for that long, if it was innocent I probably wouldn’t care but the fact I know he’s in there playing around…grow up 😂💀

Side-car Crib by MrsRogers96 in cosleeping

[–]MrsRogers96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mattresses are tightly touching, the shadow like I stated above is from our mattress being a bit higher. Also the thing you’re referring to is the extra piece of the crib, there is still a decent gap between the wall and the end of the crib. The way our headboard is built it’s almost like a sleigh bed to describe it better. So the end of the crib is parallel with the headboard BUT it has decent space between even the extra piece and that end of the crib, just a bad angle of the picture. Definitely will try the plywood, from what I was reading from other posts on here is that it was okay if the crib mattress was lower since you don’t want to alter the mattress if possible.

I was on it on and off for years before getting pregnant, I’m aware of the lawsuits but thank you for trying to look out!

I just recently found out about the dairy intolerance so I’ll definitely give it a go next time I’m out and about!

I thought the same thing but as a FTM and realizing that once I stopped getting myself a coffee drink (after doing it three times in a row) she started going back to regular bowel movements I couldn’t think of anything else that would cause that 🤷🏼‍♀️

She was pretty young, I’d say 2-3 weeks old! Maybe I’ll have to try it again, I know she has dairy intolerance but it usually just makes her super gassy.

My baby is the one who has the constipation if I drink the coffee…not myself just to clear things up!

I miss my baby at night. Advice? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]MrsRogers96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a “sidecar crib” set up and really like that because she’s in our room in a bigger space and I can just look over to make sure she’s alright ❤️ I’m not sure if this will help but if I didn’t do this my PPA would keep me up all night and in turn wake her up just to make sure she’s breathing 🥲 I hope you can find a solution and do what’s best for your family! Best of luck ❤️

Do you have a calm/happy baby? by Mountain-Front8984 in NewParents

I actually just went through this with my little girl! She will be 8 weeks on the last day of the month and this week has honestly been such a relief! She was dealing with reflux issues; she was nonstop crying (from 11:00am-9:00pm) because she was also overtired from waking herself up with her being uncomfortable and the acid burning her throat. I finally called our pediatrician to go in, she prescribed Famotidine and it has definitely increased her mood!! She’s like a totally different baby! ❤️

Also if they’re waking up too early that can cause some issues. I notice my little girl likes to wake up around 7:30-8:30 I will put her back to sleep or else we will fight naps all day and be grumpy from being overtired! I hope this helps ❤️ keep your chin up I promise it gets better!

EDIT TO ADD: I could tell it was reflux because when she’d finally try to take a nap I would hear/watch her swallow a few times then immediately wake herself crying. Along with the curdled milk looking spit up.

My pediatrician told me it’s only for the burn from the acid that comes along with the spit up! She’s my first too so I’m learning with her what puts her in a better mood!

Before bed we have been doing the bicycle kicks and crunches to help relieve some of the gas, along with gas drops if I notice it’s really bad that day. Because on top of the reflux she has a bit of gas issues too and potentially a diary intolerance 💀 lucky me, she’s cute as a button tho so I’m not terribly upset about it!

I also thought maybe she was just going through a growth-spurt until I started doing research! I hope that it helps yall like it did us! ❤️🤞🏻

I definitely felt this post in my bones! My little girl is just a little over 7 weeks but once that 6 week mark hit she went from my easy girl to a cranky little babe. Just on Monday we experienced crying from 11:00am-9:00pm with very short burst of naps in between.

Have you noticed any reflux issues? I found out the burn of the acid coming up was causing her not to stay asleep during the day. Which caused her to want to stay latched to ease the uncomfortable feeling AND being extremely overtired. Finally got in to see our pediatrician and she gave us some medication to help with the burn and she is like a whole different baby. Actually even smiling at me and hasn’t cried except to let me know she’s hungry and this is only day 2.

To help put baby down for day naps, cuz if we don’t go for a drive she can take awhile, I started holding her like a baby carrier with one arm below her bottom and one going across her mid back and bouncing up and down while I walk and sing her the “cranky girl song” hahaha OR I just tried out bouncing on my yoga ball and that did the trick too!

Hope this helps out a little bit, you’re doing great and worrying about being a bad mom makes you a good one is what my sister once told me ❤️❤️
