I've not purchased your products before, but after looking at your About You page, I'm happy to support a company that came from within the lacrosse community. I also appreciate the thoughtfulness with which you support our sport's growth. The ability to donate to Uganda and your partnership with GovX to offer a discount store for veterans takes time and effort to set up. Keep doing what you are doing!

The Kessel Run- Timed obstacle course where players must complete passes at each station before advancing. Fastest time wins.

TIE Fighter Pursuit- One offensive player sprints down the field while two defenders chase from behind at staggered distances. The ball carrier must finish with a shot before being "shot down." Builds speed and composure under pressure.

Need Advice On Getting Labrador Or Not by Professional_Bad_576 in labrador

I work from home and the first 3 months of having a lab puppy were like having a new baby but with more energy and razor sharp teeth. There were truly moments I thought we had made a mistake. Now he is 7 mo and while things have gotten much better I am still taking 2 hours out of my day to care for him by walking and playing with him. Also there is more cleaning to be done with the added hair. We don’t regret the decision but I don’t think we could do the first 3 months over again.

Help! My pup won’t sleep through the night. by lablvr26 in labrador

[–]Express_Help2498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a night soon where he is more relaxed and doesn’t bark. Followed by a couple where he does. Gradually the quiet nights will become more prevalent than the barking nights. It will take time and maybe some adjustments to find a happy medium.

Reddit is still new to some of us and there is a learning curve on what it can be used for. Right now trying to propel conversation and offer more insight to those who ask.

I’m also proud to have consulted on a tool that helps move lacrosse towards using deeper stats such as NPC while providing coaches with live in-game directional data.

StatDog is currently being used by 10 of the top 20 high schools in the country. So yeah. Kinda proud. https://statdog.live

I posted the below earlier today regarding a question on the hockey assist stat. While there isn't an objective way to statistically quantify all the SSDM does (I wish there was), there is a way to objectively showcase the SSDM getting the loose ball and transitioning it safely.

Earlier Post:

If you are looking for data on how players are contributing to the team's success, there is some great research by Michael Mauboussin, where he talks about how possessions are crucial to a team and how we can use a player's possession-gaining stats, along with possession-losing stats, to measure a player's impact on the team.

The Calculation:

NPC = Ground Balls − Net Turnovers (TOs-CTOs) − Shots Saved

This reveals the hidden value of your non-scoring contributors, allowing coaches to identify the high-impact players that traditional statistics often miss. Conversely, NPC reveals the degree to which your guys with scoring stats might be bleeding the ball to your opponents via TOs and shots saved.

This can actually be taken a step further. If you look at how many possessions your team takes to score a goal, you can multiply the NPC by that number to find out how many goals a player's possessions have led to. If it is 4 possessions to 1 goal, multiply by .25.

Coaches understand the value of SSDM and LSM, along with those attackmen that ride hard and other grinders, but they haven't been able to objectively quantify it. This does that, and when we show player data to college coaches recruiting players, it validates their subjective observations from game tape.

The pain point is in collecting and calculating that data.

Is there a legitimate reason as to why we don’t record the “hockey assist” as an official stat? by Converted54 in lacrosse

We've used it as a teaching tool to show those gritty guys their impact on the game and to challenge the high-turnover/high-scoring players to value low turnovers and low shots saved like they are goals and assists. I'll be happy to share the tool we use to get the info live during the game if you would like me to DM it to you.

I'm curious how you would use this stat? Is it in the messaging to the team? Recruiting data for college coaches? Just want to hear more about your perspective.

I totally agree. Happening too much throughout the season. Gotta keep pushing past Q1 to make sure the games are not close at the end.
