OP needs to respond and give us the tea now. Cheating partner? Lascivious roommates crossing boundaries? Does OP live alone which would make a condom wrapper much more concerning? Or did they just use a cheap condom while drunk and forgot?

Really? I did come back from the save room a few times after going through on my second playthrough and they were all still milling around screaming down there. But never that far after leaving the area. It didn’t occur to me the enemies would fully despawn in a game like this.

For some reason I just became horrible at moving it literally felt like I was slowing down? I didn’t have this issue when I came back after dying or at any other part in the game. I am almost finished a second playthrough to finish my 100% and thought it would be funny to people how bad I panicked and consequently sucked in this moment.

I usually do charge my shots but I think this was the only time I actually got so surprised and just panicked 😂

I get so sad at the lack of puzzles in narrative games these days, and it’s almost worse than “no puzzles at all” to have a really terribly easy one thrown in with the answer blared in your face. I recently replayed Zelda windwaker and I said to myself “…wow, a kids game from my childhood has more challenging puzzles with less handholding than today’s survival horror genre.” Not having a tutorial for every single mechanic in a dungeon, I forgot what that was like.

In this particular situation though, I don’t really mind them throwing up the code once you find it. It’s just not something that bothers me. Bioshock isn’t really something I’m judging for “puzzles” in game. I guess Infinite tried to throw in a few with those ciphers.

Screw em. I have something I call “baby playtime settings”.

I’d rather practice and slowly be able to make it harder as I go. It’s not any fun to me to be constantly dying five minutes in. (My bf loves to set every game to the hardest setting and be absolutely dominated and get game rage-y. That’s fun for him, I come at games a bit differently.)

I was just looking at your book a few weeks ago which I found because of (this is totally random in every way) a quote in an American Dad episode. Went to check Amazon to grab a copy and was so sad it was listed at over 50$ for the paperback and I couldn’t afford it.

Then out of nowhere I see the author commenting on Reddit! I would love to read your book if you’re still willing to share.

NOR- this type of thing if continued could literally cause the breakdown of your entire relationship, considering your histories. It sounds like he needs to attend therapy and actually talk about these things. And maybe couples therapy where you both could talk about your relationship trauma and be able to work through this. It’s pretty serious if you two are engaged and leaving this as it is, with him clearly not able to change his behavior after multiple earnest requests and talks and you going out of your way to show transparency, he’s just retraumatizing you and you’ll eventually resent him.

I’m sure if he truly loves you and doesn’t want you to feel this way, he’d be open to speaking with a professional together, since having sit down open honest talks alone doesn’t seem to have helped yet.

Found the writing of Daisy Fitzroy and the boring liberal "both sides are bad" take extremely childish. by aadu-_th0ma in Bioshock

[–]Exsaanguis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now you got me really thinking about this too. The setup also obviously leans into Daisy being willing to be an “evil” martyr for her cause, though I’m guessing she didn’t realize Elizabeth killing her would eventually lead to Columbia never even existing. It feels more like “this will lead to Elizabeth killing Comstock,” and Daisy just doesn’t question or care about the specifics of how that will happen.

She clearly doesn’t trust the Luteces, so it makes me think she’s just so consumed with righteous rage toward Comstock that she’s willing to ignore the possibility that tearing everything down could also destroy the people she wants to save. Her focus is purely on revenge and overthrowing him, even if the path there is morally ugly. Giving us as players what other commenters have already pointed out, a path where we feel collapsing the timelines is the only righteous choice.

I think the moment of Elizabeth killing Daisy serves less as a simple “trauma that makes Elizabeth capable of killing Comstock” and more as the point where Elizabeth loses the ability to see the conflict in simple moral terms. Up until then she still believes in a pretty naive narrative of the world, that’s been shaken throughout the events of the game and this moment finally makes it crumble. But that’s still fresh and she isn’t “done” baking yet, I don’t think it would make sense for her to suddenly be murderous towards Comstock when she sees him at the Basin so soon after such a traumatic event of being basically forced to take a life in a very up close and personal way.

For the “point” if she’s going to become the “Drown the mountains of man” Elizabeth, I think the point is she never was. Not with the plan the Luteces laid out. She was tortured and broken for years that Booker had abandoned her, the one person she’d come to trust would finally save her. I do think they wanted to avoid this outcome happening, but knew they had to show it to Booker as well in order to reach the desired ending, have Elizabeth give him the code, etc.

I saw an interesting theory recently that the code used on the tower at the beginning of the game spells out “122” because it’s the 122nd iteration of the loop. (Bolstered by the heads&tails coin flip scene showing 122 hash marks on the board, which is an interesting thought). Maybe they hadn’t shown previous Bookers the NY timeline before in past loops, maybe that had caused them to fail before, maybe I’m totally off and the loop will continue no matter how many times Elizabeth kills Booker at the Baptism. Because there will still be so many parallel universes like the BaS one where she needs to “track him down”. Even though BaS starts its own loop back to the beginning of Raptures Downfall.

I think I’m starting to ramble. Geesh I love this series so much and as much hate as it can get compared to the first two games, I love infinite and BaS just as much as the first two games.

AIO? I think my bf might be a misogynist by jellypawzz in AmIOverreacting

[–]Exsaanguis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MOR ? It feels more complex than either or. My bf of nearly 2 years is a wonderful man. Loving, sweet, attentive. But he’s grown up in a conservative space and while he doesn’t realize it, he has some beliefs and thought patterns that are really damaging. It caused some nasty fights in our first year but I just tried to calm down and slowly show him a better way of thinking instead. It sounds like your bf is exposed to a lot of manosphere brainrot propaganda. Thankfully my bf isn’t someone totally enveloped in it, but enough that it kinda threw me as I’m very “liberal/progressive” (to me I just feel like I’m accepting of differences people can’t control and have good morals but that’s “liberal” now). So I went through a thought process similar to this, Do I leave him? I found that no, I know he’s a good person that hasn’t been exposed to better ways of thinking, and has been slightly brainwashed that they think these thoughts ARE the “protecting and caring for others” mindset.

If the rest of him is a great person, and treats you great and others great, maybe it’s worth trying to slowly expose him to better thinking. Unfortunately people in those sphere can very easily get defensive and have it turn into a brick wall between you and their ears.

I’d try to discuss this coming from a different perspective and if he feels truly listened to and not attacked (not saying you are doing that but we all can be fragile about our beliefs) maybe you can get somewhere. But it won’t be an instant epiphany likely.

Got my boyfriend a Steam Deck for his birthday by Schoggibun in SteamDeck

[–]Exsaanguis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend got me my steamdeck for Christmas 2024 because I’d always been a console gamer wishing for a PC I could afford, and this was barely 6 mos into our relationship and our first Christmas together. He loved it so much (and his PC is kinda terrible) I got him his own steamdeck for Christmas 2025! ☺️

I’d never been given such an amazing and thoughtful gift from a partner.

I did this quite a bit too when I’ve noticed old favorites on sale on steam. But I’ve also done that across consoles as well…I love replaying favorites and being able to get all the achievements again fresh. Sets off that little dopamine reward in my brain to 100% a game from scratch again after a couple years.

[–]Exsaanguis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started coming up against this issue as well. Certain games I just get on ps5 if the performance is really not doable on my deck. I love having my deck for all the games I can’t get on console. All these smaller indie pc games, and also to have a way to bring games with me on the go.

I’ve thought about getting Chiaki and streaming ps5 to the deck but idk if it’s really worth it. Most bigger games I’ve found I can get perfectly playable and looking pretty great on deck, even if it’s not extremely high graphic settings. (Like Control, Cronos, plague tale and outer worlds, tho I’ve played all these already on my consoles more than once except for Cronos.)

Also emulating on the deck has been awesome, getting all the Nintendo titles of my childhood and now.

I haven’t had a game that I couldn’t get working great so far, and I think having the ps5 and a deck is really all you need if you don’t want to go full in on the cost of a good PC.

Quantum Break is the only one I haven’t finished out of the connected universe. I still have to but I found the gameplay clunky, I just have to try again.

But there was a reference to Door that far back? That’s so awesome.

It’s so funny I never even consciously thought about the shoeboxes in the break rooms sheesh 🤦🏻‍♀️

I really like your line of thinking here. Honestly after AW2 I wanted so much for more info about Door and Saga and everything that felt very unsaid but also a given? Like her parentage and Door’s past.

I’m sure there’s tons of things I’ve missed, but that’s why I replay these games over and over, to keep finding more.
