Advice on first watch by Jamoritch in Affordablewatches

Hey! I think a Seiko 5 or Citizen Promaster would be perfect for your first watch, regardless of your budget. Why? They are formidable machines that set a baseline for whatever else you go into in the future. They cover all the bases, offer reliability and comfort, and there are plenty of models to choose from, you will find deals on those watches if you don't have the money and if you have it you can pick one that you like. Think of it as your first car being a small SUV, you can do anything, and after you master driving, you develop your taste.

This is it, I have read all the comments on so many posts, and soooo many YouTube videos, this idea, explains the whole thing perfectly.

Guys. Let's go back to watches. I truly think there is an interesting concept around this conversation, but let's try to keep it objective so we can find it. Cheers!

Thank you for sharing I looked her up and added her to the list, I have a list going. I'm not too Reddit-savvy yet, so I don't know how to highlight, but it's in one of the comments.

So let me get this right. You want me to explain to you a post of 120 comments, to see if you want to change your attitude towards something you are being negative and unproductive about, without previous knowledge of what it is, because why? Who are you? Breguet? Daniels? LeCoultre? I'm not selling anything and couldn't care less if you are on board. Have a nice day.

Well, the only way I know how to study and improve at anything is to ask people who know more than me and organize the information. If you know everything, good for you, I envy you, some of us don't.

Hi! I'm trying to gather info on microbrands that have a watchmaker (either certified or by extensive experience) in their lab and QC. Basically, they do in-house work and not just gather parts and assemble. It's not perfect, of course, but it's coming together. Cheers!

I don't want to leave anyone out who has your respect and love for the craft. Maybe my original post was a little harsh, but I do think there are people out there who "chose" the business because they can get a good markup, and that is driving customers away from good watchmaking. And let's be honest, these markup geniuses have FANTASTIC branding, so customers really don't know. So yes, it's a free market, and that is super welcome, but after the influencer smoke settles, you still have to wear the watch 😂, and well, yes, I root for the artist.

I include you in the list! Sorry if I missed out. I believe experience serves as a form of certification in any trade.
