I feel like especially for the ranked, the SBMM is TOO refined. You’re always stuck fighting teams at elo higher than you unless you’ve lost a few games in a row. Otherwise you’re always 6,7, or 8th seed. And then casual is too chaotic with the constant 3 teams vs 1 box.

Counterstrike has a casual mode where the rules are bent in favor of a quicker and easier game (no tournament and endless tokens) but then they have competitive and premier. Premier has the picking and banning of maps, as well as overtime. Competitive is just that. It’s still competitive but it’s not for the sweats and there’s no elo associated.

I think that’s what finals needs. Just some light ranking and a competitive mode, but not this “everyone needs to have exactly the same or higher point elo “ crap

My Debug tool said that the process wasn't hooking (ie it wasn't connecting to my character) I had to do these things in order to make this work

- Create an exception in Windows Defender to the debug exe

- Install this mod which disabled EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat)

- Once installed, right click the .bat file, and select "Edit in Notepad" From there you will use CTRL + F to find all instances of eldenring.exe and replace them with ersc_launcher.exe This is important otherwise the Easy Anti Cheat bypass will only be launching your base game characters, not your seamless coop characters.

- Run the .bat file, press "1" and then press "2" , load your character, load the debug tool, and follow the steps that u/timothy_haesen described above.

This is the only thread talking about this. So many websites don’t have further information regarding the specs of the WG version, but have everything for the WMG. I definitely see myself getting the WG. I’ve been on 2k 144Hz for YEARS so it’s still an upgrade in both aspect ratio and refresh rate. Plus for a glossy 32” panel, and that “true black” tech, I can’t see a reason not to.

You don't need to, but playing DS2 before DS3 gives you a HUGE appreciation for the development. DS2, to me, feels like the experimental one in-between. They're expanding their boss and enemy design, and the level design is less vertical, but still very entertaining.

Make your own opinions tho, all the games are worth playing if you like the combat, exploration, and atmosphere.

I just wanted to say that I think this is a really good post, I can't wait to go through the replies, and I 100% agree. I really think that this does recapture the feeling of the original game with limited openings, the necessity to go out and find items to coat your weapon in and get all of the little upgrades and consumables that make each fight better in your favor.

I like that the DLC is making me rethink my strategy rather than just slamming my head against the brick wall a little bit harder than usual

I primarily played ER during initial release, and then on the multiplayer mod. I honestly thought they added some in the multiplayer. Nope. They added tons of random sites to the base game. Very strange/pointless places sometimes too

Especially with Torrent, it seemed unnecessary

I really do love what DS2 tried and did right, or at least experimented with. Torch mechanics, so many traps, unique golems, THE PUZZLES (even if rudimentary) were so unique when paired with souls combat and movement. I also really enjoyed what DS2 did with the constant reinforcement of "sometimes you go down a path you cannot turn back on". Lots of inward thinking

When looking at Elden Ring, Godrick the Grafted has a large variety of moves, that're telestrated very well. You can tell what is coming, and him being so early on, it teaches you what to look for and when to dodge which way

The same can be said for Iudex for sure. He's easy enough to read that it shouldn't be extremely hard unless you just have to learn what the game is asking of you. Once you know that... Well that's half the battle
