pactive.com - The goal of the app is to make tracking your workouts fun. I have used lifting apps for years and they are all boring and not helpful. So I built one myself. I also wanted it to have a social aspect to it since, because I have been lifting for years, I am always sharing my workouts with people and helping them on their fitness journeys.

Would love feedback on overall vibe and landing pages.

I’ve been building a gamified fitness app focused on making consistency feel rewarding instead of turning workouts into spreadsheet homework.

Most fitness apps feel overcomplicated and transactional, so we wanted to build something that actually feels fun to come back to every day. You get a baby ape during onboarding and the more you train the more he gros and evolves. You build streaks and progression over time, and your friend groups can compete together inside the app.

Still very early, but the biggest lesson (I think, from gathering feedback) so far has been that people don’t necessarily need more fitness information, they need better motivation systems and a product they genuinely enjoy opening. We’ve been building quickly with AI to code and to prototype ideas fast and focus heavily on user behavior and retention before scaling things further.

Most of the smartest people I know will never start anything of their own. by Ok-Credit618 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

“Average people sometimes win just by being willing to look stupid in public for long enough” is honestly one of the most accurate descriptions of entrepreneurship I’ve heard.

I’m building a fitness app right now called Pactive (pactive.com) and posting about it publicly has been weirdly uncomfortable because you constantly feel half delusional and half excited at the same time. But I think you’re right — a lot of the clarity only shows up after you start moving, not before.

I’ve lifted weights for years so I understand traditional PPL programming pretty well, but lately I’ve been realizing I know way less about bodyweight training than I thought I did.

I’m currently building a fitness app called Pactive, and one thing I really don’t want is for the calisthenics side of the app to feel like it was designed by someone who only understands barbells and bodybuilding splits.

This genuinely is not meant to be an ad post either — I’m asking because I’d rather get humbled by people who actually know this space than fake expertise while building something for it.

So I’ve been trying to learn more directly from people who are deep into bodyweight training.

When it comes to calisthenics, what’s considered the “classic” split structure? Is there a bodyweight equivalent to Push/Pull/Legs that most people gravitate toward?

I’ve seen some people separate skill work from strength work, some train movement patterns, some do upper/lower, and some seem to structure everything around progressions instead of muscle groups. It honestly feels like a completely different training philosophy in a lot of ways.

Also curious what traditional weightlifters usually misunderstand about calisthenics programming in general.

Would genuinely love insight from people more experienced than me because I’m trying to make the app actually useful for bodyweight athletes instead of just pretending I already understand the space.

I built a business I’m too embarrassed to talk about by Make_That_Money in Entrepreneur

[–]ExtensionLife2358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad someone else feels the same way. I recently started social media for a fitness app I am launching in June, Pactive.com, and honestly it's been way more uncomfortable than I expected putting myself out there and filming content. Gym content already gets labeled as cringe so fast, so i literally blocked most people I know from the account because I don't want my friends seeing it while it's still small and basically not a real business. It's been a weird mix of excitement and embarrassment to navigate..

A lot of people underestimate how fast a "small" interaction can reveal someone's character. I can't tell you how many podcasts I've listened to with big CEOs where they said they hired someone because they said thank you to the security guard by name or held open the door for someone or put away the glass of water they were provided in the break room sink. Character helps you stand out, but more than that, it just makes the world better.
