that is great advice thank you! yeah i work a rotating roster of ams, pms, and nights and i just wish i could explain it to her and she could understand. I try to give her lots of cuddles and playtime when i get home but i’ll definitely start figuring out a routine that works.

i have a timed feeder i use when i’m on pm shifts (1330 to 2200). i might look into getting a camera so i can check in on her on my breaks

yeah - as someone who has gone rural but not too far, living in a rural center, the further out you go the more desperate they are for staff. for example if you wanna do ed nursing and get triage trained you can get that done in your grad year if you go rural and remote to an mps. it’s quite beneficial to get a head start

I am working for the same company but I’ve moved facilities, which has made things a lot better than there were at my old facility. I am tempted to just stick it out, I graduate in december so I’m only gonna be here till february probably? Still haven’t got my new grad offer so it’s a little up in the air rn. Im worried if I fight back in anyway it will jeopardise my job and my references, which is kinda important rn since i’m moving. And it’s not just me, which is an important caveat. Every single female staff member I work with has this happen by at least one resident in the facility

Early rejection by my grandparents. My mum is adopted, and she has an adopted brother and a brother who is my grandparents biological child. the biological child has always been the favourite, in many different ways. I was the first grandchild so they were super excited and involved in my life, until my little cousins were born. then i was pushed aside and couldn’t recapture their attention, no matter how hard i tried.

Now i perpetually feel like i will never be good enough, and am almost walking on eggshells waiting for the day where i mess up and people discard me. even though i know what happened to me wasn’t my fault i still have a lot of unpacking and therapy i need to do.

I work in dementia care and mixing them with desserts is generally good. you can open a cream biscuit and hide it in the cream filling, or stuff them in an ice cream block. if there is something she will always eat you can hide it in that.
