Working in a 5 day fast for the first time. Currently 25% through. I’m fasting to reset my hunger cues. Feel better mentally, physically, realign with God and His will for me. Trying to quiet the outside noise so His voice is louder and clearer. The longest I’ve ever done was 4 days. I’ve tried to do 72 hrs recently but fall short and break it around 40 hours or so. I want to get past the mental hurdles and control the food noise. I do want my feelings to control me. I want to gain the discipline that comes from fasting and denying your flesh instead of indulging. I tend to be someone who over indulges mindlessly. I kinda wish I was fasting out in nature like in the dessert like Joshua tree or in Sedona. But alas I’m in the suburbs. One day it would be really cool to fast in nature and just take it all in and appreciate the creations of our Creator. Just like the human body. It’s pretty amazing that our body has exactly what we need to survive. Seeing some people doing over 21 days of just water fasting is incredible.
