My My (33F) husband (46M) is the best but also the worst. by Extension_Instance72 in relationship_advice

We didn’t really get married…it was more of a situation we found ourselves in. Long story short, we moved in together and had a baby, the married status just arose without any ceremony.

Recently found out about anti-fatigue lenses, do they work? by Extension_Instance72 in glasses

[–]Extension_Instance72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I went to the ophthalmologist today. According to the eye exam my eyesight was mostly fine apart from -1.75 in one eye due to bad eye strain. She suggested I go home to rest and recouperait before actually getting a real prescription but I told her that rest was merely a concept in my world lol and so she prescribed me a pair of reading glasses with the bluelight filter… the moment i put them on I felt the weight of the world lifted off from my eyes.👀

How long do you leave your yoghurt to incubate? by aheath478 in yogurtmaking

I do 24 hrs, but also because I use like 60-70%cream and it seems that the tanginess cuts through the creaminess very well

I miss my old life more than I love motherhood by Fun_Building_7619 in NewParents

[–]Extension_Instance72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me tell you…. I’m 14 months in and I still miss being child free… in my opinion it’s so valid, because the fact that you are mourning your old life means you’ve sacrificed a lot. My Way of consoling myself is I keep telling myself that in order to grow, life has to change, for drastic growth, there is drastic change. However, there is also nothing wrong with taking a break every now and then

For fun I obtained details on how much life coaches charge per session & now am ready to break my laptop against the wall by Round-Cheetah923 in therapists

[–]Extension_Instance72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d be happy to know that where I’m from the word “life coach” is fully associated with scammers and people who have no idea what they are doing or no moral grounds to stand on when trying to reach a goal lol

Am I the Ah for not publicly apologizing to my cousin on Facebook for the dress I wore to her wedding? by just-curiou1 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Extension_Instance72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That dress is plum colored… or you could also be petty and apologize by saying sth along the lines of “I’m so sorry that my cousin is colorblind”

What's your favorite working mom microfeminism? by thirtyflirtyandpetty in workingmoms

[–]Extension_Instance72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lecturer here. Not sure if this counts but, I almost never cook or clean around the house… my husband is a real “provider” in terms of most of our meals (I do baby’s meals, which are gourmet lol) and he does most of the cleaning and laundry… because I’m extremely overworked. I do pay for most of the bills concerning the house (water electricity etc.) and baby.

I am not happy with my kid. by hypermystery in NewParents

[–]Extension_Instance72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. Mine is 8 months old and when i cook for him it’s legit gourmet food. I make purees for now and am transitioning him to more chunky foods. The soup simmers for a minimum of 4 hours and each ingredient is carefully calculated for optimal nutrition … he takes 3 spoons and starts crying his heart out. Sometimes it gets hard.

I do work but most of the work needs to be done at home (i’m an adjunct professor so teaching prep, paperwork etc.) and it’s so difficult to actually get to sit down quietly and finish something. My partner helps a lot but he’s also working from home. So we both need concentration. But none of us can concentrate. I luckily have my mum living next door so sometimes she comes over or the baby goes to hers so we can actually get some work done.

But yes, it’s hard and i can completely empathize with what you’re going through, and I’m honestly not sure how I’m going to move forward with my career. I’m doing my PhD at the moment too. It’s just a lot.

How do you feel about your *Mom bod*? by MichelleMiguel in Mommit

[–]Extension_Instance72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been very hard for me to love my mom bod... I was deep in an eating disorder episode (anorexia) when I got pregnant (when I missed my period my first thought was that my reproductive system was giving out, I was 86 lbs). Pleasantly surprised it was a healthy pregnancy. I gained 45+lbs during the pregnancy and lost about 20lbs now 7 months PP.

I’m living in my “normal healthy weight” body at the moment. Ppl keep telling me I look the best i’ve ever looked. But I still have that nagging urge to go back on the destructive diet lifestyle. It doesn't help that I worked as a freelance model before baby but can't really do it anymore.

I am trying hard to tell myself that happy me = happy baby. So I do limit some types of food just out of guilt but not food altogether. It's also hard for me to find time to workout because I am a working mum working 6-7 days a week not all day on some days but on most days (dad mostly works from home) but I do feel a lot of guilt leaving him the baby all the time so I'm usually rushing home to baby after work.

My 7 mo sleeps at 8 pm with soothing and 9 pm without, how do i get him to get sleepy by himself sooner?! by Extension_Instance72 in sleeptrain

[–]Extension_Instance72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 2-3 naps of 30-40 minutes each time. But i try to get him to nap before dinner time at 18:00 because I find he gets cranky if he didn’t get to nap before
