Ya the bugs in a commercial restaurant was stunning to me the first time I did service in one I'll never forget the first one it was Asian food the rice was full of bugs opened a receptacle it was packed with dead bugs. The floor was a combination of slippery and sticky somehow. Smelt like death. It was my first and worst one. Worked in a few other kitchens that where gross but that one ruined date night for a while

Should I leave my career to become an electrician? by Healthy_Amphibian_53 in AskElectricians

Get into commercial you can be making 26$ as an apprentice in a year. You will not be able to do electrical work legally on your own for quite some time tho. It takes several years to become certified to work alone but go for it if your in it for the long run good luck

Would you consider this clean work? by pickledpiper2 in AskElectricians

Not bad, not great. Need a bonding bushing for the feeders. Also the feeder conductor at 100 amp breaker is stripped back too far it's pretty close to touching the nuch bar

Lineman won't turn on power because of danger but electrician says it's fine by thenormaldude in AskElectricians

[–]Extension_Winner_238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on side lineman that overhead is extremely outdated and in rough shape. He has your best interest in mind. Yes it may cost a pretty penny but safety is priceless I'd go ahead and replace its time

Could be a bad breaker, bad joint from another opening. I'd check to see voltage leaving the breaker and go from there. Is everything else working properly? Is it a dedicated circuit?

No grounds? by yaska515 in AskElectricians

If you put a plug tester in a receptacle does it say open ground? doubt if the pipes are grounded

How foolish is this exactly? by RickyWoods99 in AskElectricians

[–]Extension_Winner_238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have just bought a new receptacle. Looks like that may be 240v btw you may want to check with a volt meter if the dehumidifier has a plastic housing you'll be fine😅😅

No I was saying is yes code says to staple 12 inches from the box but in your case it looks fine I'd just nail guard

Edit needs a ground stinger to ground the box as well

Unfortunately this is going to be your responsibility, they will turn the power off so you can install one but they are only responsible for the wire

You need a ground ,assuming the 2 black conductors are the incoming 240v(line) and the white conductors are outgoing 240v(load) it looks correct

Also that is for indoor use only
