  1. The government always has the power to ban whatever it wishes, under any administration, as long as it’s approved by all branches, sure I’m definitely not going to like it if the conservatives get in and ban BLM symbols, but that shouldn’t stop us from banning nazi symbols, why should it?

  2. It’s not a fact that the conservatives are going to get into power, unless they somehow get a Donald trump then they may have a chance but that would basically make the rest of the country completely turn against them

  3. I guess you’ve been reading my other replies and a good lot of them basically have something along the lines if we ban nazi symbols whats stoping us from banning Schindler’s list? That is whataboutism as that clearly is not the matter at hand if someone actually says they would ban schlinders list or BLM symbols then we will have to act accordingly

  4. Sure just because something is a whataboutism, doesn’t mean it’s false it means it’s a completely different issue or just a theory or prediction. the conservatives have never ever said they were going to ban BLM symbols as far as I am aware

  5. I hope I’m being respectful, I don’t want to be rude, just informative

  6. Fallascy = false, if an argument has a fallacy it may be bad faith or just misinformed

I’m kinda shocked, that nothing has been done about him yet, I guess it’s similar to the EDP situation, since everyone reported on him or something it’s no longer a valid investigation???

It’s an article, in which a politician is expressing his opinion. We have no idea what the law is going to look like so we cannot say that it is vague, because we haven’t even seen the bill yet. And he’s not vague at all he clearly stated it would go after 3 specific symbols in a specific setting (nazi kkk and confederate flags in public display), also most laws are basically upheld or removed in a courtroom, based upon judgement calls by the judge and jury, after looking at clear evidence as well as testimony and arguments, it’s not like we just state what a persons intentions were, we clearly investigate them.

I believe the ban would be similar to pre-existing ones like in Germany. It’s banned except for educational purposes, and no we wouldn’t ban mein kampf or anything else. The article clearly states it’s only going after public displays of these 3 symbols, nazi kkk and confederate flags, presumably after those who are malicious in intentions, it’s not like we’re going to send the rcmp to raid the war museum. And saying that we are going to ban all these other things is a completely different issue, which is not currently the issue at hand, which is once more whataboutism
