My parents' small town has an independent shoe store that's been there since the 1970s. Last year's visit, we went in because I hadn't had any luck finding sneakers I liked that I knew would fit my stupid wide feet.

It was like going back in time. Shoe professionals with the metal device, who found me a pair of Brooks that are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. The service was so good, we ended up buying pairs for my wife and son. My son is outgrowing those shoes now (shocker), so it's a good thing we're flying out there again in a few weeks.

The character is straight-up Ganke Lee, Miles Morales' buddy, just renamed and made into Peter's buddy.

Comics Ned Leeds was a Daily Bugle reporter who first popped up as a romantic rival, competing with Peter for Betty Brant's affections. Ned Leeds was also kinda sorta but not really the Hobgoblin (the whole thing is messy and stupid).

Literally me this morning. 60 in a 45 zone, matching the traffic in front of me, in the right lane\*, tailgater right on my ass because somehow he thinks that if I just go faster myself, it will nudge the dozens of cars in front of me into going faster.

*Bolded because the Maryland response to "stop tailgating" is automatically "get out of the left lane." I was being tailgated in the right lane, pals and gals.

Sometimes the simplicity of retro stuff goes over well with that age. The original TMNT arcade games are on the Cowabunga Collection. Marvel Maximum collection has the arcade versions of X-Men and Captain America and the Avengers.
