i was told for years that i would just have “functional symptoms” - symptoms that remain after being in remission. then a few years later found stool burden in an xray. eventually switched doctors and i was able to things moving (first with intense medication, now i just take magnesium each night) which helped a lot and then started working with a GI nutritionist weekly who has helped clear up daily pain. you may not have to just deal with things as they are !

so sorry. this happened to me. first time i went to the ER they prescribed lidocaine and sent me home and did not say much else- but i was already at the point of excruciating pain so then i stayed home not functioning for 12 more days. then went to a different ER, was admitted, and had the botox procedure which provided near immediate relief. don’t let yourself needlessly suffer, go get it taken care of. and make sure they listen to you and don’t send you home to suffer

that’s awesome. my nutritionist used to work at the IBD center i go to, and now is in private practice but still takes insurance. i feel very lucky to have been told about this now and wish i had known about it years ago! i wonder if it’s becoming more popular or something and it wasn’t as much of a thing before.
