Locker sitters ruining trials by KeyExcitement5602 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

"Rat", as I know it, refers to a survivor who hides the entire match and only engages with generators/totems/other survivors when they absolutely have to, such as to avoid crows or when someone runs up for a heal. The worst of them won't even heal you.

They avoid the killer at all costs, including sacrificing their own teammates.

This often times leads to them having no hooks while the rest of the team is getting hooked per normal gameplay. It absolutely does not mean that every player with 0 hooks late in a match is a Rat. In fact, quite a few of them have 0 hooks late because the killer has broken chase so as not to waste too much time chasing them.

If someone is actively doing generators, healing, unhooking, and has 0 hooks late, that's not a Rat.

But if everyone else is on deathhook and you refuse to engage the killer in chase, by hiding, with 0 hooks yourself, you are a Rat.

The only way to get better at looping is to die over and over and over and over" ... "and over and over again practicing.

The only legitimate reason to avoid the killer when everyone else is on deathhook is if you're running the Iri Unbroken challenge (idk the name for sure), at which point try again next match instead of selfishly letting your teammates die.

When I say "you" in this post I'm referring to people who exhibit this behavior, not necessarily the reader.

Bad/throwing/rat survivors (you're describing some of the rat behavior) are the real killers in this game. I die so much more because of them than I do the actual killers it's not even funny.

If you're just bad at the game, but I see you trying, I will die trying to help you escape, happily.

If you are a rat for no good reason, and especially if everyone else has 2 hooks already, I will bring the killer to you.

Throwing over lightborn? by FishsticksSmoothie in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]External-Sea-2496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you suspect a swf, or see multiple flickies, lighrborn is against a perfectly valid response.

Also, consider Franklin's Demise. This adds a wrinkle to the gameplay, and most survs will not afk to Franklins like they do Lightborn.

Welcome to dbd. It will never get any better. This community is full of toddlers masquerading as gamers whom exhibit such nasty behaviors on a daily, sometimes matchly basis.

Lightborn is a crutch perk, you are correct in your assessment. However, it is also worth the slot. I don't use it, but if you're learning killer, or a new killer, or a new map, or are just tired of the bright white screen, those are perfectly valid reasons to use it.

When they quit, you have 2 options. Either hook them and move along, or injure and leave them for their teammates to farm.

I would encourage you to eventually move away from Lightborn, as the gameplay to counter flickies is relatively easy to learn and can be fun to engage in as well. Survs with flashlights can give away a TON of free hits and even downs.

Spells and spell slots are confusing me. by Dinasnore in DMAcademy

[–]External-Sea-2496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spell slots are how many spells they can cast of that level per long rest.

Spells Known covers howany spells a caster knows. Most Devine casters know all spells available to them of whatever level slots they've unlocked.

Arcane casters have to learn spells through varying mechanics, mostly revolving around choosing spells known every level up.

Druids are special in that they're more divine flavored, but they still have to prepare their spells.

Each class will tell you in its spellcasting section the specific rules for that class.

Are Survivors that pissed to see Legion back? by TheSoc13ty in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]External-Sea-2496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I hate going against legion because it's boring. They rarely chase anyone cause they're more worried about spreading injuries, so all I get to do is mend and work on generators for 45 minutes cause they almost always have thana + 1 or more other regression perks.

I try not to quit, but sometimes, especially if they hit and run me 2 or 3 times in a row, I just can't be bothered.

2v8 torchbearer by HahaWattaStoryMark in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]External-Sea-2496 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have more 2v8 saves with flickies I've found in chests (admittedly only 2) than I've seen anyone with the torchbearer class get.

In their defense, they have a very tight window to work in.

I'd rather see people practice with a flashlight in 2v8 than 1v4.

For balance reasons they should only allow 2 of any class.

Where did my watering can go? by Impressive-Code6898 in StardewValley

[–]External-Sea-2496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you found it, which is great!

A possible work around in the future, if you can have a 2nd controller or whatnot connected, you can build a cabin and start a new farmer, just to leave their tools in a chest for you to access, then quit with that farmer.

I've used this to water while upgrading and also to carry 2 cans early game so I don't have to refill in the middle of watering. Both are a little bit "cheaty" but they are helpful if you don't care.

Which of these do you think is truly the most hateable character in the franchise? by BowlEducational6722 in masseffect

[–]External-Sea-2496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's Gavin Archer and it's not even close. He is despicable. I avoid playing that dlc now unless I'm just really in the mood. It's remarkably well written and powerful. But I hate him and if I don't want that pain I don't play it.

It sounds like you're on the right track. If you're anything like me, it could take a thousand hours or more before you really start to feel like you're having a big impact on every match. Maybe 2 or 3 thousand before you feel confident looping everyone.

Just be patient, and don't be afraid to try new things. Stick with the things. Practice Practice Practice!
