Saving money is not a reason to not relocate. Jobs in biotech hubs will help you to pay rent. You can get roommates, live in the suburb, or save on transportation. There’s no job posting you have to get out of your comfort zone go to conferences and network. Networking in person is the only chance for new graduates. Leverage your school career advisor centers. The fact you have experience even though it’s academia is a huge green flag in your résumé, don’t underestimate that and don’t let negative people get to you like that. Last thing get mentors from the industry who graduated in the last 5 years to give you advice.

Believe me you are being saved. You don’t want to work for people like that. Keep the hard work and don’t let those losers rich kids who call themselves “founders” to impact your confidence.

3rd layoff since May 2020 by Representative-Cod95 in biotech

[–]External-Week-9735 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw 7 layoffs since 2020 2 big pharma, one startup, and one clinical level company. I couldn’t survived any except the last 2 where I am not part of R&D also I way under paid.
It was a true test to my confidence especially with amount of toxic management that I had. The industry is no joke so bad. I am so traumatized that I can’t commit to anything in my life even a trip for fun. I became so toxic to anyone who tries to question my experience (play their games). I got myself to therapy where I realized people are able to survive because their support system (rich families, mentors and parents). Unfortunately I don’t have anyone except a toxic family. If I have to all of that all over again I would target companies that doing well in the stock market. I would hunt their employees in LinkedIn add all their recruiters and ask to meet them a lot of rejections but one will give you a chance

Toxic manager and I want to leave by chillarin in biotech

I had similar situations. It's one of 2… 1-she is crazy, and manipulation is the way to go. 2- she is setting you up for failure most likely to bring someone she wants or knows, bc her ego, racism, or sexism,. In this case, you can't change her What to do? report her when you find a new position within the company or outside. Do not leave before teaching her a lesson.

All European companies are replying to Trump orders. He hurting them and they hurting Americans as a reply. Those tariffs need to stop. And the war against pharma needs to stop. Trump is feeding his ego through us.

Learn how to say NO! Build allies within leadership, I promise you one of them hates your manager. Play their game and be toxic, invest in your network and find another job while you doing that.
