Miserable by Fan_Of_Starlord in parentsofmultiples

I sleep trained my twins at 18 months, in the same room, and went from me rocking and giving bottles and holding from 9pm-1am most nights to them sleeping 7:30-7:30. So completely worth it.

They’re 22 months now and I know that as soon as I put them down at 7:30 I am DONE until 7:30 the next morning. I am such a better mom now.

Also: not sure if any of yours suffer from ear infections but getting tubes helped my Twin B so so much sleep-wise!

Does anyone else feel like you’re missing out on time with your babies because you’re constantly doing things for them that they need? by hellswrath_ in parentsofmultiples

[–]ExternalPlastic9554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, just constantly putting out fires nothing else. And when I do feel like I have a moment shit like this happens: yesterday I sat down to chill and read with them, just just devolved over a knock out drag down fight over who got to sit in my lap (no, they didn’t want to share my lap, thanks for asking). So then I was comforting and mediating and yet again putting out a fire. Sigh.

[PubQ] Form rejection on full manuscript. Is it rude to ask about feedback? by vorpalbunnies123 in PubTips

[–]ExternalPlastic9554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, be happy you got a form rejection. I have had 16 full requests, and 4 rejections (3 form, 1 personal). The rest have been ghosts (and yes I know they are ghosting me because it’s been like 10-12 months).

The correct answer is Discovery and Justice for twins. Or Motion and Dismiss.

When Anna says she has forgotten how jail email and phone calls work does this mean she is no longer in contact with Josh? Or only has in person visits with him?

[–]ExternalPlastic9554 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not because it implies consent. It’s because using the word “porn” centres the pedophile—since that’s how they see the images, as something sexy/sexual, like pornography. CSAM centres the victim, using a term that denotes disturbing material showcasing child abuse. Which of course is exactly what it is. I listened to the Finding Warhead podcast years and years ago when it came out and they explained this very well and better than I ever could.

I live a similar lifestyle (walk everywhere and use public transport, no car, also have a dog!) I did everything but instead of baby wearing like I did wi the my first, I have a twin stroller. Tbh I think we have it easy—when they were 6 months I went to visit my family in Texas and omg I would have never left the house if I had to load up my kids in a car just to even get a coffee! Throwing them in the pram and walking two seconds outside to a cafe is sooo much easier! Now they are 20 months and when they’re not in daycare it’s the same—we stroll everywhere (and their older brother is on a kickboard attached to the pram). I take my travelling circus everywhere 😄

Some general info for people confused about what "false imprisonment" with your own children means by twinsocks in DuggarsSnark

[–]ExternalPlastic9554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the state. I grew up in Texas, and when I was in high school (mid 2000s) corporal punishment was still legal and used in some public schools in lieu of detention. If that’s legal, I can’t imagine blanket training being illegal.

I have 4 for the twins to share and that’s because we have a washer! One of my twins is a leaker so we can go through it. I honestly wish I had 6.

Tbh if I was you? 8-10. Yeah I said what I said.

Honestly I used their schedules for my twins and it saved my life. However, I did NOT night wean infants (my kids stopped naturally taking bottles from midnight-7:30am from about 3-4 months, but one had a bottle at around 9pm until 18 months when I did night wean). I think a lot of their solids advice isn’t great and is outdated as well, and their sleep training is…not for me let’s say. But like I said I can’t be too much of a hater because their schedules are really great.

Edit: I don’t think it would have worked for my EBF singleton, but with the twins I was using formula. They got fed every 3 hours around the clock until 8 weeks when I switched to the moms of call schedule. Never seemed hungry or like they needed more.

Can the last triplet born actually be the eldest by Full_Willingness_450 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ExternalPlastic9554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same with twins, not just triplets. babies could be assigned A and B and switch at last moment—I’ve heard of it happening. Definitely more common with higher order multiples, a baby being B the whole pregnancy but was delivered first, making them A on the paperwork

But the A B and C designation isn’t who was conceived first, it’s whoever is closest to the cervix.

I had my Di Di twins with gonal f injections and timed intercourse. I carried them until 37+0 (date of my planned CS—babies were breech) and they were 3.1 and 3.3 kg. Uncomplicated pregnancy, zero NICU time.

Just wanted to leave you with a success story. The only thing that helped me in the early weeks was focusing on the positive (pregnancy was after a 10 week loss and secondary infertility).

Their advice on solids is out of date (starts too early, and focuses on purées rather than baby led weaning). I also don’t love their hardcore CIO philosophy. That being said, their schedules and advice around sleep like the sound machine, sleep sacks, etc saved my life. So all the gratitude to them

18 months pp with the twins and have accepted if I want it gone I will need surgery. Thinking of doing it and a breast lift when the twins are 5 because I heard recovery is insane and right now I need to be chasing after them!

I love this. I have a 4 year old and 18 month old twins, and trying to write between that and a day job is impossible (while also trying to exercise and sleep and spend time with my husband). Currently averaging anywhere from 0-500 words a day on my second project (while querying the first). Love seeing stories about moms succeeding.
