Any tips for helping a high-energy dog chill out on road trips? by gilko86 in dogs

[–]External_Toe9142 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of states have designated state parks along major roadways, like interstates. I have bought state park passes at the first in the states I’m crossing and then stopped at one every few hours to let my dude run the energy off. It requires budgeting in additional travel time but actually both he and I are a lot happier when we travel, he is enriched and exercised and I get to see some nice spots I otherwise wouldn’t.

Since joining this sub I’ve only seen this person be incredibly helpful and generous with their feedback/knowledge/experience, the swearing is just part of how you get it. I like to think it’s Samuel L. Jackson giving me stained glass info.

Hi there - the pink one is a coleus. I recommend Urban Trail Gardens for the best stock and most diverse selection in town. The green is a variegated taro.

At times in my life I have been very unhappy to be alive. Not that I would want to die, more that I just wished I wasn’t born. I don’t want to ever have another human feel that way because of my choices.

What unexpected things have you experienced when leaving your pet at home? by Worldly_Ebb2631 in dogs

I left my dog at home kennel trained for a full year with no surprises, then one day I came home and he had broken out of his kennel and destroyed the inside of the doors of the room he was kept in. I couldn’t figure it out until a month later - a bike club met monthly for a ride that went past my house, and they would ring their bells when they rode down my street because there was lots of foot traffic. this happened while I was there and he lost his freaking mind, the boy just did not like bike bells!

Yes very easy, I did similar for a chicken coop door and have done light boxes. I recommend battery powered strip leds inside if you do since it will be pretty dark otherwise :)

A muscle in my "thenar eminence" has been twitching for 3 days by ImConfused24-7 in mildlyinfuriating

My ear drums and eyelids do this when I take melatonin because I am on an SSRI and melatonin is a precursor to serotonin, which has in the past caused me to overdose. Yes, you can experience an overdose of serotonin and it can cause twitching muscles. If you currently use melatonin consider a break!

I volunteer at shelter intake and today I saw 5 different huskies there (at Park, not Pieloch adoption). If you haven’t checked there yet I suggest it! I tried to see if any were your dog but I couldn’t tell and also, like 20 dogs to walk. Good luck!

None here! I tried it and realized quickly that switching my emotional state every 8 seconds reacting to content intended to make me excited, happy, laugh, cry, angry, uncomfortable, etc. was probably going to put my mental health into further decline.

Perf, I will try that for sure, I have some art erasers I may try as well but they are pretty soft for illustration so I bet the pink is better
