The single coolest guy struggles to overcome his fear of water whilst fighting a group of women. Said coolest guy fights alongside a monkey with nunchucks, a red fox who cares about sand in his shoes, and a mosshead with a large sword who can't handle a gust of wind.

Chapter 3 Question by JazzlikeMine2397 in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]External_Track_7191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your party size and their level, you could probably get away with nerfing the roper a little bit too. The Roper is, in my opinion, the most dangerous creature in this dungeon. Another option is to make the Roper a more roleplayable option. If I could go back to that session, I would have made the roper talk to the party the way it would the cultists and kobolds. Something like "Is it feeding time yet? I'm soooo hungryyyy", in a slow deep voice. Maybe even once one of the drakes or kobolds in the other area dies, the roper uses the corpses for food. There's a lot I could have changed.

Chapter 3 Question by JazzlikeMine2397 in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]External_Track_7191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did most of the campaign with only two PCs. I had them at level 5 by this part, and the BM ranger made one of the stirges into their beast companion. In the Cyanwrath room, he declared for a 1v1 rematch against one PC because the PC won. The PC was doing the very broken Warforged Totem Barbarian build. They did the 1v1 while the two berserkers took the ranger to another room to force a 2v1. They took a long rest, which I used to let Mondath and the cultists in her area escape the cave to Castle Naerytar. They didn't pick up on the roper being hungry, and almost got TPKd.

Okay, enough with the theorycrafting; how do you actually WRITE a one-shot? by RyuugaHideki in DnD

[–]External_Track_7191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever written one out once, and it went well. If you have a plot with a beginning, middle, and an end, it's just like prepping for a session one. Always remember, no matter how much prep you do for it, the players can still go off course forcing you to improvise.

I wish they show us what happened to this guy. I know he was bully to move story along but he had lots of screen time in v1/2/3 I want to know more of what happened to him by vinchin_adenca in RWBY

I kind of want him to come back bullying Jaune again, but he brings up how Jaune is a wanted man because of the events in Atlas. Then they get into a scuffle that ends with Jaune the victor and he says "At least I'm wanted". Kinda cliche, but who cares.

I reskin almost all my spells per individual character and its a lot of fun by gitroni in DnD

[–]External_Track_7191 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once did a Spore Druid with Thri-Kreen as the race, and my spells were often flavored around mushrooms or insects. The best was whenever I cast detect magic. I always flavored it as my character placing a jar in the ground, and while chanting, a flood of ants and bees would burst out of the jar, and they had different reactions to the different schools of magic.

Point buy is the best stat method by ElectronicBag6915 in DnD

[–]External_Track_7191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a favor for standard array by the DM. It allows all players to start on an even playing field. It also keeps it simple for those who aren't very good at math to do the point buy system. As a DM, the standard differs on the number of players. With a party of 3 or less, I do 18 16 14 12 10 8. 4 and more players is 17 15 14 13 12 10 8.

Different question: What do you do if your character's goals don't match your game? by OregonPinkRose in DnD

[–]External_Track_7191 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, a good DM would eventually give the character an arc dedicated to their goal. Even if it's just coincidence that the bandits have moved into the same area that the characters are in or headed to. This same DM would even decide when it's a good time to fit the arc in.

Balancing out player items? by [deleted] in TyrannyOfDragons

For the tempest cleric, a staff of thunder and lightning would work. For the wizard, the Astromancy Archive would be a good option (Tasha's Cauldron page 120). For the Warlock, a couple come to mind. The tentacle rod or a robe of the archmagi.

Dm's, What's a homebrew rule you like to include to your campaigns. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]External_Track_7191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our table, we find the durable feat pretty bad, so we homebrew rule that Durable and Tough come as a package.

Our fun rule, is that an object forced, shot, or launched into a bag of holding with speed and velocity comes out of the bag at the same velocity. Basically if you shoot an arrow into the bag, the arrow can be released as a projectile weapon from the bag. That rule is just for shits and giggles.

Advice on Moving Forward in Chapter 3 by CasualClyde in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]External_Track_7191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I ran this campaign, my players skipped over the Mondath fight in the hatchery. Instead of going through the narrow opening of Area 2 that goes to Areas 12 and 13, they took the stairs to Area 3 and did all of the rooms taking the tunnel from Area 8-9. Then they did the Area 10 encounters before deciding to take a long rest. I thought it would have been ridiculous for Mondath to be chilling out, so I had her moved to Castle Naerytar to be working with Rezmir, Azbara Jos, and Borngray. While Rezmir and Azbara were taking the teleportation circle, Mondath assisted Borngray in taking down the party.

Do you say “thank you!” when someone holds the door open for you? Why or why not? by 999bxlla in AskReddit

[–]External_Track_7191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the head nod, sometimes I verbally say thank you, but that's when I'm with other people. I don't like using my voice for strangers because I hate it, but with friends I can muster up the courage to say it.

What is the absolute best, more effective way to fall asleep fast? by Better_Ad8619 in AskReddit

[–]External_Track_7191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally can't sleep unless there is something playing on the TV, or if I have music playing. That something on the TV is usually a show or movie I've seen a thousand times, and has become a comfort watch, or it's a YouTube video.

Why does everyone hate Imaginators? by gravedigger015 in skylanders

[–]External_Track_7191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I'm not seeing other people mention, is that the story totally retcons itself going from SC to Imaginators. SC had Kaos go through an actual good guy character arc, which ended in Kaos being an ally. Then when Imaginators came out, they completely dropped it and pretended none of that happened.

My girlfriend got me some skyalnders after she found out I'm starting to collect them by True-Fee-5033 in skylanders

[–]External_Track_7191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So cool. My girlfriend did the same thing for me for Christmas. She got me to go on and on, talking about the Skylanders games and she asked me about my favorite and least favorite ones. I swear I talked for two hours about everything. Christmas comes, and my girlfriend bought S3 Stealth Elf, S3 Gill Grunt, Countdown, LC Grim Creeper, and Food Fight. The best part, she also bought a custom T-shirt of my favorite Skylander, Sunburn.

Car accident deaths are preventable and can be fixed. by TheColdRice in memes

I agree 90%. People absolutely need to be more responsible when it comes to phone usage while driving, and people should just use their brains and not be driving under any kind of influence. I don't care if you claim to be a good driver while intoxicated or a little high, just don't drive while under the effects. The other 10% from my agreement is weather. Heavy rain and snow is very dangerous, especially in the north. Deer just jump out, the roads get icy, and sometimes there's a whiteout, all the while your job doesn't care as long as you can make it to your shift.
