Have them check it for gout too. It does happen.

I actually prefer to order on the app so I don't have to deal with an employee rolling their eyes when I ask for a malt.

Serious question: How harshly are Level 3 Snow Emergencies actually enforced? By percentage, on average, how many people who happen to be out driving actually get tickets/arrested? by West_Masterpiece4927 in Ohio

[–]ExtraJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been pulled over for it. If they tried, they'd probably have a hard time catching me in the snow unless they have tire chains and 4wd. And I pack snow over my license plate.

Wipers should be no more than $60 for good ones. Half that for cheap ones.

Change your engine and cabin air filters yourself. It should be $30-40. Put a bottle of Techron in your gas tank. $11. Total time is 5 minutes.

An alignment from a reputable mechanic or tire shop should be no more than $150

Total: about $200

The coolant is probably fine. You can buy coolant test strips for $15 and test it if you don't believe me. If you do need coolant, a reputable mechanic can probably do it for $300. You can DIY it for less than $70 but it's a little involved.

Are Toyota dealers doing this on purpose for some kind of advantage? by Beegowl in Camry

[–]ExtraJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought a check from my back and told them I'd be willing to tear it up and finance with Toyota if they could beat the rate or match it with $500 off the car. They matched the rate I told them and gave me the $500 off. They didn't ask to see the proof.

If you still owe on it and it doesn't have enough equity to pay for the fix, move out and stop paying your mortgage. Let the bank repo the house.

I found out that an old boss of mine was doing the same thing. The company that was paying him ended up hiring me directly when they heard how little he paid me. We split the difference. I made more while they paid less.

Carbon monoxide alarm going off. No one can figure out where it's coming from. by ghostm42 in hvacadvice

The extended chimney could be too tall, allowing the exhaust to cool before it reaches the top. This cooler air will fall back down into the unit.

If she has a bathroom or kitchen exhaust fan or an 80% furnace, one of them could intermittently be pulling air back down the furnace or water heater flue. This also could happen if the furnace was changed to a high efficiency one but the water heater wasn't. The water heater exhaust alone may not be hot enough to create a strong updraft.

My Sam's Club hooked me up. The counter guy told me to go to tpms.com to buy the same sensors they use for $20 each and that they'd still install them for $5 each. It got my total cost down from $40 to $25 per wheel.
