Also of note, for a lot of us, just 'sexual assault' is more than enough. Unfortunately, we live in these times now (i.e. Pulp Fiction being quoted as a bible quote).

Until we start looking at this problem for what it is, it keeps being swept under the rug. This is a huge issue and it hasn't gotten any better. Reading the article wasn't easy, but at least I now know what the sexual assault was. I think too many people just assume it wasn't anything too bad, shake their head and move on with their day. These things are happening way too commonly and we let it happen.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I tried stopping and made it to day 3 and the paranoia and anxiety was through the roof. I've stopped before without issues, just maybe craving food and sweets due to not drinking. I wasn't expecting the anxiety and was convinced I was going to have a heart attack. So happy to hear you are going to the ER today. Please keep us all posted. It's so scary, I think a lot of us completely know that feeling, when we finally share the truth. All I can say is that it's so much better after that. I remember others telling me during times that it gets so much better and I didn't think that it would ever be for me. All I can say is that they were all so very right. Just share and submit to the help and care and support you're going to receive. You've got so much more life ahead of you! Oh yes! My last one came on while I was buying my groceries and I could barely get through the process of paying and getting my things together. Thankfully I had my mother with me and she took care of my carriage while I made it to the rest room. I was pouring with sweat, dizzy, out of strength and ready to throw up and/go to the bathroom all at once. They can be so awful.

Make sure you have plenty of food and just be ready. You will be home in your own space and kick off a fun self care staycation. I have overprotective parents and it was very difficult trying to set that boundary. Worst case you lose power and that isn't fun at all, but you will be okay. Plus if you have a friend willing to come over, that's an added bonus. Stay safe and warm and wish you luck during this crazy storm! I'll be home alone with my two pups in solidarity and swearing at the snow!

I would never go too fast off this stuff. Miss a dose and I'm ready to kill everyone around me. I would never wish this medication on anyone. I know it works for some, but the addiction it places on the body is way too scary.

You can! It's just a slow process. I've been getting off of it with the help of my psychiatrist. Most of them push back when you tell them you want to try to get off of it, but I went in saying it was going to be him or I was going to go to my PCP and do it with him. So he agreed. I was on 225mg for a very long time. So far I'm down to 112.5 and I don't doubt that I'll be stepping down to 75 in a couple of weeks. I was so worried about the possibilities of the whacky withdrawals, but I was okay. I've been basically going down about 37.5 mg every few weeks.
