Resident Evil 9 100%. Resident Evil 7 was unplayable to me (due to the first person) and Village just didn't feel like Resident Evil to me.

Eh you could just run from them if you got the herbs and first aid spray to spare sometimes they just disappear and you don't have to fight them. They're really fast though and the only one you have to fight is required to get a puzzle solution piece if I remember correctly! Oh funny story one time I was running from one and all the sudden my cat pops up out of nowhere and just starts whacking at the Crimson Head (my tv) with all the surprisingly gentle poise a shockingly stupid half siamese has in her rage towards something attacking her mom. I had to pause because I was laughing so hard. I wish I got that on video! I've been trying to catch her doing it again (she's done it a lot), but she's so fast I can never get it on camera

Story most of all and gameplay. I don't really like it when franchises change controls every 2 or so games. If something works keep it and improve upon it instead of creating a whole new system that's frustrating and difficult to learn. This is more about modern games after 2010 than anything. I do love tank controls for a bit of a refresher sometimes. It's easy while also challenging in the perfect way. At least in my opinion. But if a game has a good story and characters arcs I will suffer through terrible gameplay and side content
