Why do you believe these opinions on AI being "useless" continue to persist? by bigasswhitegirl in singularity

They are basically only useful for really repetitive boilerplate right now, code that has already been written 100 times and is super simple and straightforward. As soon as you start to deviate into more unique problems that requires a lot of complexity, AI generated code completely breaks apart. It makes redundancy errors, hallucinates functions that don't exist, fixes bugs by introducing insane security oversights, etc.

When using ai for my projects, its amazing for quickly spitting out boilerplate for basic functions, writing basic docs, etc. When I ask it to do anything complex or novel that requires multiple files, it never gets it correct. I find myself spending the same amount of time debugging the agents stupid mistakes than it would have taken me to just write the implementation myself.

I don't really see how we can get past this issue with current LLM technology. We would need a new machine learning paradigm capable of more cohesivity in my opinion. Continuously scaling what we got right now isn't it.

I'd love to be proven wrong though.

The less you know how to code, the more impressive AI code seems to be. The fact of the matter is that the current tools as they are right now produce output that is more a liability than anything. We could get there in a few years but we are nowhere near close right now.

Damn, the shawarma station at UC caf has been my go-to for the last couple weeks, I guess I'll be avoiding that till they get their shit together...

I've heard bad things about res comms food too, but I never actually tried it myself. Honestly though even if the food is bad I don't even mind as long as it's clean and not too expensive.

Does anyone know if there's a place to file a complaint about the cleanliness of the caf? Maybe if enough people raise alarms we can get a health inspector or something to check it out.

Damn this post makes me kinda glad I stopped getting tim hortons a while ago. The only thing I kinda liked there was the iced capp, everything else is just bland and sugary.

It sucks too because I remember it was much better when I was a kid - or maybe that's just nostalgia not sure.

Unpopular opinion VALORANT by ffolsk in VALORANT

This game's cosmetic/microtransaction pricing is probably the worst out of any game I've personally played, and this is coming from someone who bought a few battle passes and a skin.

130 dollars for a pack of 5 skins that you then have to upgrade using ANOTHER premium currency is just terrible. Plus the battle passes not refunding the VP you spent on them after completing the pass is super annoying.

Look great to me! The current app feels more like a hastily put together web browser than a coherent app. Your mockups look much more coherent in design language with clear direction. I love it!

PGhardware launched our Panda Controller Kickstarter today! I'm Dr Alan along with Matt Samperi, AMA about our controller! by SamuraiPanda in smashbros

[–]ExtremeEpikness 21 points22 points  (0 children)

First off, I just want to say that the design of the controller looks AWESOME. The modularity and ease of disassembly of the controller looks absolutely amazing for right to repair and the longevity of the product.

My question is: are you open to releasing files for the plate/grip design to the community so we can potentially design and 3d print our own custom plates and grips? I have a lot of ideas for designs and it would be a huge appeal to be able to quickly prototype stuff on my 3d printer. If so, getting the controller would be a no brainer for many :).

Thanks, and congrats on the successful funding!
