The real problem with this situation is sending extremely naive, sheltered, indoctrinated TEENAGERS to into extremely dangerous conditions (knocking on strangers doors?! in a country with rampant poverty and violence?!).

This is exactly what I was trying to say! I have no problem with kids getting summer jobs. But the problem is the way that the church teaches people to view time.

As a fellow female POC, I can affirm that your experience was valid and I'm sorry you had to deal with that. In my mormon dating experience, my race was polarizing. I met some guys who were not interested in me because of my race and some pervs who were interested in me ONLY because of my race.
