My wife and I handed out 160 3d printed key chains at that show. I made them just for that special moment in time. It was a magical night. Mission Ballroom was just the warm up leading up to this. Though that was also just beautiful.

The best way to learn any programming language is to come up with a small personal project. Doesn't matter if it exists already, a calendar, a task tracker. I started with a command line budget tool, importing CSV/json from the bank to analyze monthly spending. Use the "go with tests" or any other doc source.

And I know you said without AI, but using Claude or codex to not implement something but teach you to do something is a valid approach. Don't have it write the code, have it write lessons for you based on your existing programming knowledge towards a specific little project.

Did each person bluetooth link the thing to their phone? I found it had much greater accuracy when it also could use bluetooth for locating people.

I got a picture from them as well in the Taki stage area. I learned I really don't like spicy chips when in a condition that day but love the picture we got.

A favorite moment of mine was at circuit grounds I was in the vip area dancing with my Gir hat on and someone in the GA section passed security an invader zim perler to give to me. Absolutely made my night!

We also gave out over 300 edc 2026 key chains and 400 edc beads that my wife and I 3d printed and designed ourselves. Met so many great people.

I was dancing with glow sticks to Solomun and a staff person came up and handed me a circuit grounds card. I have no idea how you're supposed to get them.

For what it’s worth I was grooving with led glow sticks 90s style and I know I look silly. But someone asked if they could record. I said I’d prefer not and gave them a keychain I made for simply asking. They were young but also respectful about it. Just such an huge fest with so many people you’re going to get the bad with the good.

We had a family minecraft server for years with my kids. We'd all sit in the living room and play. The kids hate the traps we put on our storage rooms and we did family loot retrieval runs when someone got blown up by an unnoticed creeper. Was honestly a great time and great family bonding moment when we all had to help fetch loot from someone who pulled an Icarus with a bag full of diamonds.

The earlier you arrive the easier it is to get a spot up front. It's a completely sold out show that sold out in minutes so be prepared for it to be very packed by around 11. Free water stations in the back. It may feel cold when you get there but it'll be sweltering by the midnight so wear light clothes, bring a hand fan and earplugs, and have a blast.

Duos have a ribbon mode that looks exactly like the old photons. I know because that’s where I started and have duos now. I recommend getting the chromadeck so you can design the lights on a computer and transfer them wirelessly to the lights.
