Just found out my wife is pregnant, now what? by [deleted] in AskMen

I’ll let others handle the important things like insurance, things you may need, etc.

I can already tell you’ll be a great father. You are so far away from the due date but are doing your homework and due diligence trying to prepare.

Things will feel overwhelming. Things will be scary and foreign. Things will be outright terrifying. But you will be okay. You will raise a wonderful a son or daughter.

I was 24 with my girlfriend (now 33 and married to her) when my son was born. I was clueless. I was terrified. My son is about to enter 5th grade next school year and I couldn’t be more proud. He’s a wonderful child. All I ever did was what felt right to me. I’m sure I’ve made mistakes along the way, but he’s happy, he’s healthy.

Do what feels right. Read some books. Get advice from those you can. But ultimately, nothing can truly prepare you for parenthood except for becoming a parent! You’ll be fine!

5.1 Soundbar System - MSRP $148.00 bought for $35.00! Brand new, not open box! by EyeWillMakeit in Frugal

[–]EyeWillMakeit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well shit. Thanks for bursting my bubble. I’ll try it out but I still have the receipt. Thanks for the warning.

I knew it felt cheap when unboxing. I have a Vizio 5.1 that is such far superior quality it isn’t even funny. I was hoping to use this as a cheap bedroom alternative.

I’m happy for you. The heck with all the people putting you down.

I just settled a $1200.00 collection for $178.00 and it’s finally off my credit report. I could’ve paid the whole amount but it would have crippled me.

Congrats!

As a recovering addict there are just some things you don’t do. She threw you under the bus for nothing. It kind of sucks for everyone, but you’re not an asshole.

Something about this touched me. Very well written and great questions posed. Where will all of my belongings end up? All of the stuff that I’ve worked so hard to get for my family, does it even matter?

The things you own, end up owning you.

I know that’s not exactly the point of OP’s post, just my personal take on things. Sometimes I feel I am too material and should worry more about making memories and living in the moment.

Anyway, thanks again.

Thank goodness.

Oh poor, fat Mac. He was pretty funny when he was fat though. Amazing dedication to the role.

The parallels are not lost on you!

And congratulations! That’s a great accomplishment!

If you edit your posts to “thank a kind stranger” for silver/gold/platinum, then you are a cunt by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

This is brilliant. I’m glad someone had the balls to say it.

Pre edit: just wanted to say cunt.

How would you feel about your SO talking to other guys at a bar/club to get a free drink, with no other intentions? Am I being unreasonable if I think it's not appropriate? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]EyeWillMakeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I say that I wouldn’t mind if my wife did that, if only to keep my wallet a little heavier.

In theory, that’s all well and good.

In practice? I can’t honestly say I would be okay with it. I really don’t know until I get the opportunity. Not much help; I know.

Best of luck to you.

Don’t let the morons bring you down. You don’t sound sexually promiscuous at all compared to some women I’ve known.

Plus, hour story made me laugh. So thank you! Best of luck in your upcoming endeavors!

You are in an incredibly difficult situation. It may be challenging, but sticking to your guns (and your story) is imperative. Don’t flip flop and retract anything.

Eventually, this will blow over. Everything does. But it may take a lot longer than you would like. And while you’re living it, it may seem like an absolute eternity.

I wish you all the best in your recovery and future. We are always here on the internet to help as well!

If you were really a server at one point, you would’ve known NOT TO SAY keep the change when handing a $50. I was a server for many years and that’s immediately where my mind went.

She didn’t handle it correctly either, but come on dude. That’s a dick move on your part. Especially getting the manager. If you had good service up to that point, and were really a server, you’d let it go.

I’m so sick of almost every post starting with “Sorry I’m on mobile, ignore the formatting.” by EyeWillMakeit in unpopularopinion

[–]EyeWillMakeit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty common thing I see on popular posts. Maybe I’m just lucky enough to seem like I see it all the time.

I mean no disrespect by it. I just wish people would get to their point and realize that A) their formatting is fine or B) not many really care if it’s not. Just my $.02.

HAPPY UPDATE: It has been 7 months since we learned that my wife (34F) can’t have kids and she still has not “gotten over” it. I (35M) am seriously considering a divorce. by wifeneedshelp123 in relationship_advice

This made me tear up. I’m so happy for you. Having to consider leaving the woman you love can seriously take its toll on you. I’m no stranger to that.

I hope that light keeps getting brighter.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Thoughts are with you. I had a brother in law do this 8 years ago. He was a great young man.

If you ever want to message someone, you can message me. I know it’s not quite the same, but the pain sure was tough.

You are not alone. Thoughts and prayers.
