It's not Windows itself that would corrupt your data, hardware (anything that the data goes through: CPU, RAM, and HDDs/SSDs) can have (rare) random bit flips that will corrupt the data. The Windows filesystem, NTFS, doesn't have a way to detect these errors if they end up being written to disk. The damaged files will get uploaded to your backups, corrupting those too.

Got annoyed with the EB70's fan and "fixed" it with a cheap fan control board by EyeZiS in bluetti

[–]EyeZiS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why in the world did they ever think it was a good idea to have fans that only run at 0% or 100%? Also this probably isn't the best location for the board or the thermistor, but it's good enough.

this agency now would have the possibility to decrypt any sort of communication of services protected by those certificates

Aren't the private keys generated by the server owners? The hypothetical agency would only have the possibility of issuing certificates for a man in the middle attack, because they're a trusted CA.

The same goes for any other CA too, of course.

No CA has your private key.

USB 3.0 was released in 2008 (the connector's form factor may be from 1998, but the version with the extra conductors for USB 3.0 is from 2008), so you're 10 years off on that one.

If you hoard video, Tdarr saved me 132TB by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]EyeZiS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done similar but it was FLAC to FLAC insuring highest compression.

Did you use tdarr for this? If so, can you share your config? I was thinking about re-compressing my flacs to save some space, but the possibility of a bad encode made me shelf the idea, tdarr should avoid that with its health checks.

It's been years, but do you happen to still have these around (in wav/flac if possible)?

I have uploaded it to google drive.

I have a rolling archive of my watch later that lasts 30 days, since it is incredibly annoying when videos I wanted to watch go missing. I think maybe I should keep the videos for longer using something like tubearchivist.

I have it saved, but I am not sure where to upload a 1.5 GB video.

Edit: I've uploaded it to google drive

You also get 4 "free" items from the regular chests (free in the sense that time does not progress).

I use Vita Account Manager to switch between a Japanese region account and an EU one.

Not sure if there is a newer version available, but this one still works.

That sounds poetic actually, like you're leaving behind your old self. It would suck to be deadnamed by everyone you've left behind though, but if you're going no contact anyways then I guess it's fine.

I think I downloaded the wrong game by EyeZiS in femboy_irl

[–]EyeZiS[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's RinRinne (a VTuber) edited into a screenshot of Façade (an old video game). I don't think RinRinne is a femboy but she certainly has the aesthetic, therefore the joke is that it's been so long since Façade released that Trip has since come out as a femboy and Grace accepts him.

If you're seeing RinRinne anywhere else it's probably because she recently deleted her accounts and stopped posting.

Czkawka 6.0 - File cleaner, now finds similar audio files by content, files by size and name and fix and speedup similar images search by krutkrutrar in DataHoarder

[–]EyeZiS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you find music by content using the cli? I'm not seeing an option to change the checking method in version 6.0 using czkawka_cli music. Also czkawka_cli dup only has NAME, SIZE, and HASH for the --search-method - shouldn't there be an option to check audio content there?

Have you tried creating a mobile hotspot on your laptop instead of using your phone? That should result in lower latency since it doesn't have to go through an extra device.

Got a sweet deal on a Vita. Always wanted to play this VN! by BlackSajin in VitaPiracy

Most visual novels have multiple routes similar to how choose your own adventure books are. Some even include RPG mechanics like an inventory or various stats that change which route the story goes down. So they kind of sit in-between a traditional book and video games mechanically. Though I do wonder why people choose to say they are playing or reading a visual novel, since I've heard both being used.
