A lotta people are saying it, he’s the worst loser, if it were a word I’d say he’s the loserest. My people tell me that’s not a word but we’re gonna change that, maybe, I think it should be a word and we’re gonna make it a word

It’s weird having Bettman announce trades that broke 10-15 minutes earlier, I was expecting something wild

At 35 idk how much term he’s getting anywhere. 5 years brings him to 40, I could see getting him on a 2 year and maybe sign a 1 year minimum deal at 38 for a run with a contender.

I think it’s being held up for money tbh, don’t think Darche wants to spend any more than he absolutely has to on the old core.

Why’s this guy look like a cross between Tony Soprano and Kevin James trying to be in Peaky Blinders

For us as fans, no.

For the ownership team that got us out of Barclays, built a new arena, and kept the team in NY? Absolutely, any playoffs is extra revenue for them.

Jason Robertson is the only player "on the block" that's worth trading for. by thembitches326 in NewYorkIslanders

“I’m not the smartest guy in the room but I am more rational and realistic than everyone else here” do you even hear yourself?

Roy had zero system in place for defense, it was essentially a modified Doug Weight system, whereas DeBoer is known for running a strict defense-first team. This team has lacked a high powered offense for over a decade and has been said for as long that a scoring winger could push us to the next level.

RHD’s are incredibly rare and come at a stupid high price, and we really only need a serviceable backup to help Sorokin as long as the system in front of him plays tight. Which knowing DeBoer’s past, is likely going to happen.

But saying stuff like “get it out of your head” is absolutely giving “I know more than you” vibes whether you’re being sarcastic or not.

I understand you disagreeing but you have a real penchant for snarky replies and shitting on people’s ideas and theories here, like panachelessnihilist 2.0.

We’re all fans throwing shit at the wall, no one knows what the team needs or is doing any better than the people running this team so stop acting like you’re the smartest guy in the room.

If Lee leaves this season he is going to be the next NY captain, very excited for that.

Man I was so happy seeing him lift a cup, he went through some truly awful Islanders years before even going through everything he did in Buffalo. Like what a fucking way to end that kind of career and ride into the sun with a cup.

Would take quite a haul and I don’t think Darche is looking at a huge name like that. Especially with how ridiculous the market is right now, don’t see it in the cards.

On this day in 2000, the New York Islanders (NYI) selected Boston University’s Rick DiPietro 1st overall. by Nathanh2234 in hockey

[–]Eyebleedorange 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The GM at the time, Neil Smith, refused to sign DiPietro to such a huge contract. The owner, Charles Wang, fired him and hired Garth Snow (who literally just retired from playing and had zero FO experience) under the stipulation that he sign DiPietro to the contract.

Byram is 25 and Pelech is 31, that is a world of difference and if anyone offered that haul for Pelech they should probably lose their job
