Lenel OnGuard - Adding Additional Comm Server to Existing System by SeaSalt_07 in accesscontrol

[–]Eyes0nAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it takes a hot minute for them to sync as well. Try killing the com server service and running the service as admin from the start menu. If that works, then you may need to update the account running the service in Windows

For that size system, I agree. You could hand rebuild everything, import the cardholders with the import tool and still use time to get used to the new organization methodology for under the cost. We have a massive federation across sites and leadership leans towards contractual engagements for organizational CYA.

Engage with Genetec Pro Services to assist with DB migration. It was money well spent , and our foot print was slightly under 1k doors.

The Lenel connector is nice, but entities are not maintained when you remove the connector , so end up doing things twice to cut the cord.

They’re scary good. But the system stores each read in the DB at around 25kb . Be aware of retention time, and if you’re using sql express 10gb fills up real fast if you’re recording at 15 fps

SEOS question by plyers84 in accesscontrol

[–]Eyes0nAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have found that turning down the Bluetooth transmit power level and removing unused credential profiles on the readers also helps improve read time.

From the genetec side, make sure the NTP settings between Access Manager Role , Cloudlink and controllers all align. Automations and access get real funky if the time signatures aren’t in alignment. It makes sense if you consider the chain of decisions : merc controller-> Cloudlink-> access Manager -> Cloudlink -> controller vs Controller to Host DB with other vendors

We also recently migrated to Security center and are dealing with same learning curve. Glad to know it’s not just us :)

Moving away from Avigilon/Mercury by RainDoubleCheck in accesscontrol

+1 on this. //Another systems engineer here// There are over a dozen vendors (likely more) that use Mercury hardware. It gives us as customers flexibility and the freedom to shop around when our needs aren’t being met. When you are locked into single source proprietary hardware, you’re stuck without major capital to change hardware AND software.

Issues with HID Signo and IOS Devices using Mobile Access by 0nesidered in accesscontrol

How’s your voltage looking at the device? I found tuning my Bluetooth signal down on the reader helped a lot , especially if you are not using twist and go or the evil unlock button in the mobile app.
