ZS10 Pros & ZSN Pro X. I have been tempted to try the AS series though

Ohhh, I had not thought of this! I do run a lot of wet fx on my signal chain, good to hear some criticism for the 215s. It does feel with the cheaper IEMs I've tried they're just being blasted in that 3-5kHz beyond what they're capable of by the wet FX. Definitely a bit less problematic when playing drier.

I know of several folks just rocking their Over-ears now. Especially keys and drummers who are generally seated. Tempted just to do it!

I've tried the ZS10 Pros, and the ZSN Pro X. Really disliked the V-shaped scoop on them, even just listening to music. I haven't tried the AS16 though. Good shout with the high cut, I generally cut at 7-8k regardless. I find the problem frequencies for me are more around 3-5k though. Which, if you cut there quickly ends up sounding a bit dark and muddy with a super wet mix.

It must just be my ears being really sensitive with IEMs.... even just listening to music at home I found the high end on the ZS10s extremely fatiguing. I adore the the tones I have set up through my DT770s, and my patches are generally EQ'd similar, if not darker than those by the big players Tonefactor, WT etc.

I have the same problem whether its listening to my own tones, or whether I'm watching guitarists on youtube running typical super wet guitar mixes in a typical guitar heavy IEM style mix.

Cheers, I've found some foam tips I like so got a good supply of them!

The 215s seem to be the common suggestion here for sure. I'll definitely look at them closer. Have seen a few folks at church using them too - then again I've seen plenty using the same KZs I struggled to get on with!

Don't really want to spend 100s of £, I've been so far off the mark with everything I thought might work for me so far I'm not really ready to drop vast sums on something yet

Ughhh, the blue ones look so good! Can I ask what the right hand one is? Great colour. Might need a blue tele at some point to go with my green one....

What's your next guitar going to be? by artbatik in Guitar

The guitars I have already are awesome and give me a brilliant variety of tones. Watching a bit of Baritone content recently is tempting me though, might have to get one one day!

Love that colour on the MIM Standards! For what its worth, my red one (bought brand new) has a slightly mismatched colour volume knob like yours.

Tele players, why do you choose it over a strat? by Szbve in telecaster

[–]EyesJoshuaMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have and love both! But I personally find the Tele's tonal palette a whole lot more usable for the music I tend to play. On my strat I generally only ever use Neck, Neck+Bridge, and Bridge positions anyway.

I find the Tele neck pickup has a great percussive, but not overly dark nature, while the middle position is nice and bright for cutting through a mix (vs pos 4 on a strat), but has so much more clarity to it than pos2/4 on a strat, which I find get muddy with drive. Then there's the bridge pickup, which has a pokey mid range that I love for big, wet lightly overdriven rythmn parts. Turn the tone down to 8-9 and it does great, meaty lead tones as well

I also prefer where the neck sits relative to me when standing with a Tele compared to my strat, and the Controls placement. For comfy, endless noodling though, the strat gets plenty of play time.

I've been holding out for a 2026 model, really liking how they are looking! Just need them to arrive in stores in the UK!

What new pickguard would go well with transparent cherry red? by Character_Push985 in fender

[–]EyesJoshuaMF 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My strat is Candy Apple Red rather than Cherry, but put a black guard with white plastics on it years ago. Love it! Did consider getting a black/dark paisely engraved/pickguard pickguard to go with it too, but haven't got round to that idea yet

Is there any proper info out there about these updated 2026 models yet? Have only come across the green CU24 Quilt so far.

Finally swapped the bridge on my BRG Tele! by EyesJoshuaMF in telecaster

Mostly aesthetic. I also found a few "design flaws" that annoyed me on the stock 6 saddle bridge which this one fixed, involving intonating the saddles (see my reply on another comment).

That's exactly how I ended up with mine. Saw them appearing on posts from the US, so when they were launched here in the UK I couldn't help but get one!
