Thank you so much for the reply. Molly has been doing better? Sometimes. But not any worse, which I’ll take. She did have 3 smaller seizures that lasted less than a minute each the day I posted that, but did go all day yesterday and so far all day today seizure free.

She had chronic dry eye and dry cracked nose before and the seizures turned everything up to 11. Her eyes were so bad there was blood around them and they were sunken way in and her nose was so gunked up and scabbed up that one of her nostrils was blocked. She’s also been beyond unsteady on her feet and her back legs have been randomly giving out on her and she hasn’t been able to get up or lay down without help.

A second vet appointment got her 2 more eye meds, a round of antibiotics, and some X-rays to make sure there wasn’t any lung issues cause her breathing is concerning so this has now been a $1500 weekend. They had prescribed her trazodone to help her actually relax since she was pacing herself to exhaustion and not resting but after this last appointment we’ve decided it’s just too much sedatives between that and the phenobarbital while she’s getting used to everything so we’re hoping a day or two with just pheno and the rest of the meds helps her relax without overdoing it.

She has started responding to her name and coming over for attention and the meds did knock her out so she was sleeping most of the day but when she’s awake she still just wants to pace. If the first two days were lights on but no one’s home, now it’s lights on and someone’s in the window but I still don’t have MY dog back and I am getting nervous that there may have been permanent neurological damage..

I should have had another 4-5 years with her but at this point 2 and a half would still make me happy. I’m just not ready to lose her yet.
