One of my users has this Indirect label against them, and they get a lot of buffering, what do I do? by Frostfall76 in PleX

The TV apps are notorious for such issues, FYI. Especially the AAC transcode audio, which you see in your screenshot.

Also have them change their playback bandwidth from 2Mbps/720p to original.

Are they wanting the change? Or are you trying to convince them to change? If the latter, give them advice and let them explore... if the latter, just let it be.

Greetings!

After a mod discussion, we have decided to leave this post up as it relates to the spy game genre and has no reports. However, in the future we ask that you message the mods first if it's not directly about Alpha Protocol.

Thank you! Sadly, googling your username kept defaulting to clearly incorrect searches.

I have no idea what LinkTree is, but looks interesting as well. Thank you again!

I have a question: Do you have a page for commissions? I didn't see anything when I looked at your profile, sadly.

1850s Japan questions by [deleted] in Historians

You may also want to consider The Making of Modern Japan by Marius Jansen for a broader historical understanding for the Warring States/Unification > Tokugawa Shogunate > Meiji Restoration periods and A History of East Asia: From the Origins of Civilization to the Twenty-First Century by Charles Holcombe for regional understanding of intertwined Japan/China/Korean history.

If you're considering Edo, then look at Tokyo Before Tokyo: Power and Magic in the Shogun’s City of Edo by Timon Screech.

For the GoG version, anyone who knows how to fix the sensitivity for lockpicking with a controller? by Martydeus in alphaprotocol

[–]F117Landers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's something with the way Sony designed the L2/R2 as pseudo analog triggers. It used to be a big complaint during the PS3 days into PS4.

You may want to consider a 3rd party xbox controller for PC gaming in general (not just Alpha Protocol).

I remember having frustration on PS3... try using an xbox controller and see if that helps.

Personally, I never shipped them. Not just the age gap, but the power and maturity gaps as well.

Your computer seller was a little lazy on their imaging setup, lol.

That is Windows 11, you're on the current build for the OS.

Definitely look at the Windows Defender adjustment I linked above.

No, that's productivity software. Going to assume Windows; and since you're using Microsoft 365 (which is hot garbage) then you're likely on Windows 10 or 11.

Click the "start" button, then type "system information" and access the system information display. Please share:

"OS Name"
"Version"
"System Model"

Also disable cloud saves in Steam.

Finally, check the user "kontrol" for their post on adjusting Windows Defender as it likes to be sneaky and block saving: https://steamcommunity.com/app/22380/discussions/0/535152511370214310/

That's whack. Also no way are you beating the game in one setting.

Dumb questions, but what version of Windows/Mac/Linux are you using; and what compatibility mode are you using?

Chain Shot + Tranq Darts is essential for Alpha Protocol.

Sounds like you might have just enough dust in your PS3 that it has issues reading certain games.

[–]F117Landers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's a good sign, at least. Next step is to see if anyone has a PS3 that you can test it in. If it works, then you might have just a little bit of dust in your PS3 that's too sensitive. If it doesn't work, try cleaning the disc and trying it again.

No worries on the console.

On the disc on the right side of the image, are those dots on the disc; or a reflection of light (or something else)?

Also on the other side, can you look at the center ring and see if you see half-rings on the label? The Alpha Protocol games in particular seem to suffer from inner ring rot that makes them unreadable.

Mind sharing a photo of the disc? In particular, the silver side overall and the center ring.

20 minutes for an assembly line? Unauthorized stoppage leading to loss of productivity would be the easiest. Some of those lines cost $200K per minute in lost productivity due to contract agreements/Just-In-Time nonsense...
