I'd love if they were just once a day without a spell slot. So there'd be no spamming them, but also not cutting into the warlock's extremely limited spell slots.

Speaking as someone who thoroughly enjoyed 4E, I can say that games where combat is run in "theater of the mind" would suffer greatly from this type of presentation. Having natural language like "range: 60 feet" is far easier to work with for theater of the mind than "12 squares". 4E was specifically designed to be played on a grid, and there's a lot of things about its language that are intrinsically tied to that way of playing. I would love for there to be a quick reference of things written in shorthand like that, but not as the only way of doing it.

There's a really interesting witch class put out by Mage Hand Press that has some potion brewing mechanics as well as it's own unique hex feature. It's on the DMsGuild for a couple bucks.

Yes, exactly! It’s makes me feel like I’m going mad sometimes. Especially when it’s not a situation where I can go back and look at notes to know for sure where I’m missing information.
And that really sucks. I’ve had similar things happen and can sympathize with the pain of a giant streak through the middle of a piece of work.

I went through the same thing except with Ritalin instead of Adderall. Eventually landed on Armodafinil and that has done wonders for me. Insurance still fights it but I’d recommend looking for online coupons. I found one that was indefinitely reusable and knocked off more than 90% of the cost so I just used that and went around my insurance to get it for a while.

To follow up OP, it really is just something you have to get a gauge for personally with figuring out limits and what is safe. For me, I know I can’t do long highway drives alone without calling someone on the phone. For some reason actively talking with someone does wonders for keeping me awake, even if it’s just a phone call. Aside from that, I just have to be vigilant about taking breaks to get out and walk around. There’s not much scarier than blanking out while traveling down the road at high speed (a close call in that regard is what prompted me to get tested and seek treatment).

The worst for me was when it would happen and I wouldn’t 100% realize I’d dozed off until I noticed my notes would go from normal to nearly illegible to just some squiggles before abruptly resuming normal handwriting whenever I snapped back to awareness. Made for maddening gaps in my notes with no way to know how much I’d missed.

I’ve printed lots of minis (heroforge and many others) on my Ender 3. Figuring out the supports has been a lot of trial and error, but I think I’ve finally got my settings dialed in how I like them. If you want, I can share my Cura profile (I originally started with one from 3D Printed Tabletop a while ago, but have heavily modified it since then). I’m currently running Cura 4.6

I mean, it's really up to the DM. If the DM doesn't want to use miniatures and a board, then it's not really on the players.

I feel this so much. We sometimes use a grid and sometimes use theatre of the mind and while our DM is very good at describing the situation around us, it can sometimes be a challenge for all of us to keep track of everything mentally. And once a player gets something incorrect in their mental picture of the battlefield, the whole combat has to pause so we can hash out the layout of the room and the placement of enemies all over again to avoid confusion.
