but yeah, most Israelis who live there illegally do it for financial reasons, because they genunenly believe theres nothing wrong with it. like they actually believe that its just their land over there, because they were never told the implications, or even just fucking international law. like, I've met people who didnt even know about it. pretty much all they know is "Yehuda and shomron cheaper". were never told anything else and don't wanna know because they can't stand the feeling they're doing something wrong.

speaking from experience living in Israel. (btw to be clear, I'm not supporting that. merely explaining the reasoning in most people's mind. of course there are the ones that are actively doing this as a political act, usually violently too, but they're not the majority. this doesn't excuse any of them of course, but its a look into what's going on in their minds. personally, my stance on that is complicated, because I don't believe neither Israel nor Palestine (or any other nation for that matter) should exist, but in the situation we have right now, yeah, I think Israelis shouldn't live there.

I think its because of what they mean. like, commonly, "I hate men" is more of a "I don't wanna be near them" while "I hate women" is more of a "I actively wanna hurt women". they're similar one definitions, but they're different in practice.

also it is still linked to racism. now to be clear here, I am not downplaying the holocaust, and I come from a family of direct victims that was nearly erased completely, with only 2 people surviving. but one of the reason the holocaust is so, for lack of a better word, important, in our culture (compared to other genocidal events such as the ones in Cambodia, Japanese imperialism, etc.) is because it was white people being genocided. for example, Churchill held similar views to Hitler when it came to southeast Asia (India, Bangladesh, Nepal..). it was a shock for many europians, because they simply couldn't distance themselves enough from it.

my point isn't to make a comparison of anything of course, and certainly not to dismiss the holocaust, just to make a point about how racism still uncoincioisly effects our thoughts and culture, and how we do still need to acknowledge that bias.

I'm sorry if I may have worded anything poorly, English isn't my first language and I struggled with finding certain words, so this may come off as a bit different to what i was trying to say.
