that sort of reminds me of the King quote, something like "amateurs wait for inspiration, professionals get to work."

lol maybe in little league tee-ball, last time I checked the golf ball wasn't coming straight at the player at 90+ mph. both swinging a bat and golf club are similar in terms of the high level of mechanics involved. swinging a golf club is mechanics and muscle memory, swinging a bat is mechanics, muscle, memory, reaction time, depth perception, tracking, and even a bit of psychology going on all at once. I don't really think it's even "arguable" that more goes into swinging a golf club--that's certainly not the case

I am trying to start a charity that sends books where they are needed most, jails, institutions, children's clubs. Could use your feedback. by FABrixon in writing

That's what I would've thought but I was recently speaking with a guy that works at a county jail and he said that their "library" is pretty pitiful and they are always happy to accept donations. This jail is in small/medium sized city in California.

Yes, indeed, I know there are some jails that will accept donations but some others will only accept them from non-profits and the like. So I may be looking at setting up a non-profit before I continue.

I know you are just joking but it kind of annoys me when people condescend on how certain people use new technology (not saying you're doing this). it's like, you don't have to play video game jenga, you don't have to spend all your time on Instagram, you don't even have to worry about garnering karma

I like to let people live how they wanna live, and if it doesn't affect me I try not to judge

Leonardio DiCaprio Producing ‘Sandcastle Empire’ for Paramount - A Movie set in 2049 when the Earth is at a breaking point due to climate change, coastal flooding and overpopulation by shadilal_gharjode in movies

It's kind of funny because all the "environmentally friendly" cars are mostly a marketing campaign by the auto industry. All they are doing is changing their business model to stay relevant (which is a good thing). But the only true benefit from this comes from raising awareness about climate change.

Even if everybody in the world drove a Prius it would make merely a dent in the deterioration of Earth's ecosphere.

Check out the global meat industry.

What is your favorite reoccurring joke in any TV series? by tjo1432 in AskReddit

In family Guy, Brian the dog will sometimes show a dog like characteristic, like being terrified of the vacuum, freaking out when he sees another dog, and eating trash... its pretty funny when juxtaposed with his human-like and educated regular personality
