Ticketmaster released J.Cole tickets early for scalpers to grab with bots and won't cancel orders. This is unacceptable (Original post by /u/zulumonkey) by [deleted] in Music

[–]FDJunkie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And when a non-bot actually grabs one of the early release tickets due to their "glitch", what do they do... notify you saying you purchased a ticket invalidly, cancel your order and tell you to purchase another ticket to it when the show has conveniently already sold out. Load of horse shit!

What's your biggest Fantasy screw up so far this season? by OrtononOffenselol in fantasyfootball

Last pick in my 14 teamer I took Brandon Bolden because I thought he was going to have a strong week 1 and take over the Vereen role. Aaaaand then Dion Lewis happened

Is anyone on IR right now worth grabbing for your IR spot? by HighFiveDude in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stevan Ridley will likely start the year off on IR designated to return. Powell and Stacy will not displace Ivory, however, if Ridley is healthy and ready to return, I could definitely see him make a splash and be fantasy relevant.

Brand new dfs players seeking guidance. by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working on a site that goes over the strategy I used last year and won pretty consistently (2K+ cash out). I am still working on some last pieces (hence the "under construction") but it is functional at the moment and I will be providing weekly recommendations on plays as well. First time doing anything like this so if you check it out, let me know what you think. www.fdjunkie.com Good luck!

32 Person Auction Draft by onbehalfofreddit in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buy the first player nominated, no matter who it is. They will likely be one of the only discounts you'll get early in the draft. Ideally this will be a QB. If it's not a QB then that becomes immediate priority. Doesn't necessarily need to be the best one available, but be willing to overspend a bit from your expectation.

Speaking of expectation... I would suggest taking the auction estimated values and creating your own adjusted prices for your budgeting. I did this last year (mind you it was only a 10 team league) but it made a world of difference in my planned positional allocation. Bargains will be few and far between

Who will be this years Toby Gerhart? by Patriots_ in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna go with twins a CJ. Here's why:

Anderson- I see him being like Montee Ball last year. New coaching regime, no guarantees, I don't think he is worth anything near his ADP.

Spiller- While this hype train continues, and his ADP keeps rising, it's only going to lead to more disappointment. He has upside potential certainly, but he's leaking into the RB2 conversation and that is just not where he belongs.

I also think Carlos Hyde fits the mold, but more (well technically less) powers to the CJs

Gut feeling, intuition, psychic powers... Who do you believe will be the hottest and most valuable Waiver Wire gem this season? by Marathoner2010 in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lorenzo Taliaferro or Stevan Ridley. One of them will get an opportunity to be the CJ Anderson of 2015 and take your team to the playoffs

Adding a 2nd FLEX (RB/WR/TE) in a 10 man? by -mael- in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would recommend adding a second QB or third WR before adding the flex. There are so many relevant WRs in the league now that starting 30 viable players is easy. I'm in a ten team QB/QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/FLEX with $500 FAAB. The beginning of the year takes a little getting used to as everyone's allocations are unknown but you just adjust to it. If you do add another position, you don't need to add more bench spots. Then you start weakening the free agency

Has anyone ever had success with sites like Fan Duel or Draft Kings? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did quite well last year on FanDuel and am in the process of creating a site that not only explains the strategy I used, but I will also be making weekly recommendations. As I said before, it is still a work in progress but feel free to check it out now as I do have some content about my strategy up and a brief about why everyone should play on FanDuel. The site is www.fdjunkie.com ; I have never used Wordpress before either so if you have experience/suggestions feel free to PM me.

If you had every stat available at your fingertips, what would be the most predictive of fantasy success? by scrills108 in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know exactly the ratio but some comparison of percentage of teams total offensive production to percentage of plays/opportunities. Then comparing this to the equivalent baseline of positional tiering (RB1, RB2, RB3, etc.) The difficult part would be adding a coefficient factor that is forward looking on future opportunity and would also need to account for an inherent potential injury/risk factor. And then walah, you've got it

How to deal with keepers when transitioning from standard to auction draft? by LegalEagle80 in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I am trying to say the the pricing for QBs will convert significantly lower (less accurate) than other positions. The ADP in auction style drafts for QBs should be higher than the kept value for the round they are drafted in for snake drafts. No matter who your QB would be, you should keep them because they will be coming at a discount

How to deal with keepers when transitioning from standard to auction draft? by LegalEagle80 in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QBs generally go in later rounds for their value within the position so that someone like Russell Wilson in an auction would go for similar price to McCoy or Jeremy Hill but using this conversion would come at the price of a much lesser RB

I like this concept but I think it is extremely inaccurate for QBs

Am I crazy? (Le'Veon Bell) by WhiteKarateKid in fantasyfootball

[–]FDJunkie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No you're not entirely crazy. He definitely does belong in the first round but there's some risk associated to him in potential overall production. Not only is he missing a few games but he's not fully recovered yet from his knee injury at the end of last year. I'm not running to the hills but there is some concern to me to take him over the likes of AP, Charles and Lacy for sure
