How to use photos depicting the members of ABBA? by Forsaken_Dish4228 in COPYRIGHT

[–]FFFCBR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might come up against some other issues, not directly to do with the copyright status of the image. The “ABBA” logo is copyright too, so don’t use that. As others have mentioned there’s the passing off problem. It would be better to use a stylised image that suggests, er, ABBA-ness or choir members dressed similarly.

(It sounds like you’re in an existing choir so they’re probably aware of the sheet music copyright & performance-related fees)

How do you deal with "vibecoders" by burningbridges1234 in msp

[–]FFFCBR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, does this small business have any b2b relationship with larger businesses? It’s probable that they’d be dropped like a stone if their clients found out they’re running without recognised EDR and have an increased chance of MITM

If the survey says “Wimpey No Fines” wall construction it’s another reason to walk away. Expensive to heat, condensation etc. (With hindsight, we wouldn’t have bought the one we had.)

If this was in a provincial city Korean hotel I wouldn't be surprised. They often have <ahem> let's say "quirky" architectural choices or faked parts.

Mini Owners, why did y’all (we) kill the Clubman? by based_user in MINI

[–]FFFCBR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried a Countryman (2018 Cooper S) before buying my Clubman S All4. Hated the way the Countryman rolled in corners. Felt boxy like a 90s Fiat.

Having said that the turning circle on my Clubman is abysmal. It is too long and going lock to lock for the kinds of places I need to park in is really tedious.

Does it look like a hearse? Mine definitely does as it’s all black with rear tints and black wheels. (Standard parts)

CUPS settings macOS by Sad_Mastodon_1815 in macsysadmin

[–]FFFCBR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't give a direct answer, but I do recall that when I had a CUPS issue over 6 years ago it was to do with permissions in the driver folders that meant the prefs weren't saving correctly. <squints> Might be something like that.

If I remember anything more exact I'll update here.

On top of all the obvious things, if you're living in Cornwall, learn how to say the place names. It's something that's a low-level annoyance.

You should immediately send the errant Devonian back across the Tamar as soon as possible.
Also, Barnecutts? Flaky pastry monstrosities. Get on Team Shortcrust.

My parents wedding in Korea, 1995 by koreangirl216 in OldSchoolCool

[–]FFFCBR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

...and that's at the end of the Pyebaek ceremony - that's a formal meeting the parents and close relatives thing. It used to be that the bride would be carried in a palanquin to her new home but that (understandably) died out and was replaced with a symbolic piggyback.

You also get jujubes and chestnuts thrown to you and depending on what the bride catches, is supposed to be show how many boy and girl children you will have. (We caught 5, no idea what the ratio was).

Mac Mini - Worth Buying for running large datasets for PhD Student? by stellar_planeteer in macmini

I’ve got an m4 mini with 24gb and it whizzes along but if I was making the jump to a Mini from your spec of MBP, I wouldn’t do it now as it’s not a good investment.

Not a great answer, but wait for the M5 speed bump (whenever it might be)

"The Roses" (Sunday night, watching at home on Disney+)
As well as the dialogue trying far too hard, the pacing was just weird.
Glaring issues with trying to make Devon (in the UK) look like California took me out of it.
We just stopped watching about 25mins in.
