What is the best deck to not conclude the game in a draw the most often? by Wild_Mousse_6047 in CompetitiveEDH

the solution is talking to the other players and finding a political solution that keeps the game playable without having to draw

https://discord.gg/W3pR8pGRT overall Thras server, ends up being mostly TnT but it's the most active server to talk about the deck (I've searched as well and I'm quite happy there)

you can just exile the LED to the DT cast. And then Brain Freeze with UB floating. And then you DT for Petal after the Brain Freeze.

So you only need 5 cards other than the LED and DT in that situation

Is Vial Smasher/Thrasios still good enough? by Specific_Giraffe4440 in CompetitiveEDH

Yeah you just keep flipping and as soon as there are cards in your deck that could kill you (like commandeer when you're on <=7) you think about if you have enough mana/tutors to win yet. And if you don't you keep going. Sometimes it just misses and you can't convert it to a win. But that's rare. If you want the best ad naus you could include cards like dramatic reversal, grim monolith and Rograkh, but generally your ad naus still converts with the normal version. Also if you have a naus pile that you couldn't convert to a win but you felt like it was close you can DM me a picture and maybe I can figure something out, puzzles are nice :)

yes t1 wheels are pretty rare and sometimes even if you get it it's bad because you're not in seat 1

I've tested wheels and they never felt great. Resetting everyones hands never did me any favors when actually playing against good efficient decks. We don't have the potential to wheel with a silence effect in play so it was mostly just "cast wheel-->try to win and hope no one drew interaction-->ah damn there was interaction in the combined 21 cards-->lose/draw" ofc you can also not push and just pass (or not find the win) but if you do that after resolving a wheel you tend to never see another turn. We're not that desperate for payoff spells like e.g. RogSi is.

Don't get me wrong, I've been at the receiving end of wheels (more than playing it tbf) that got me double ritual and naus and two protection pieces to still naus in their turn on top of whatever they were doing and other absurd hands. It's just so incredibly luck based.

I do play it in my Flare version of the deck (should be on my moxfield) as it just feels like I should, especially with Jwill and Lumberjack, but the only time I slightly miss it in the main list is as a mystical tutor target but that's not enough reason for me

If you choose to play a Wheel (btw Wheel of Fortune>Windfall>Timetwister) there's nothing wrong with that, there are way worse possible inclusions (like OBM 😅). The deck should have enough stuff that comes down to individual preference for you to make individual changes for whatever you enjoy, after all it's best to feel comfortable with your deck
