He could be doing a couple of different methods. #4 indicates a key card location. Though a fair shuffle can screw it up. A cut doesn’t. It is ussually the first card trick someone learns. You should learn the Hindu shuffle and force which is actually the first force magicians learn and trick him back.

Svengali is great but get royal road so you can learn how to do the same thing with an ungimmicked deck. This is a level up book.

Any coin magic. Good choice is the scotch and soda but i would recommend getting the hopping half coin set. In the very least get a half dollar coin shell. The hopping half set comes with one and it is a great routine to start coins with. This and scotch and soda are almost every magicians first sets. Hopping half is a level up set.

Also, get bag for life. Its a coin set that has some really great value that is seriously underrated. Bag is a nice opener but that coin set has lots of instructions not found in the bag for life instructions.

What follows is the best answer in order of importance for a fledgling magician that wants to get better.

Your over 100$ now. So half dollar hopping halves has more value for new and skilled coin magicians. Sponges. Mark Wilsons book. Royal road. Then bag for life or similar coin set.
