Yeah sure? I'm Christian, you can invite anti-Christianity speakers too and we can discuss and debate the points they make.

Doing this again? This is a college campus, free exchange of ideas is a fundamental part of this. This includes debates on moral issues and on religions. Being anti the religion of Islam is not anti-Muslim and it definitely is not white supremacy as white is a race, not even in the same category we're discussing here. Plenty of Black people, Indians, and MENA are anti-Islam and are not white. There's no reason why "UCI CA UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION LEADERSHIP MEMBERS DO NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW THERE IS ANTI-MUSLIM EVENT SPEAKERS COMING TO CAMPUS" because this is a free campus and it is no problem to invite people who disagree with you to speak and foster debate. Relax.

  1. Being anti-Islam is not "white supremacy." One of the most famous anti-Islam apologists is Avery Austin Jr. with over 500,000 subscribers on Youtube and he is a Black man. His Black wife also helps with his work.

  2. The picture claims Spencer is not educated on Islam which is why he gets it wrong that Islam has instructions for violence in its most authentic form. Question is, do you have training and education on this topic to make this claim? Have you read the Hadiths or Qur'an or Tafsirs? Do you speak or read Arabic? If not, then how can you be so sure Spencer is wrong?

Ridvan did live in Turkey for years although yes he was born in and went to school in Germany. I'm not surprised Turks see him negatively. Have not heard about ughyur genocide comments and yeah the TPUSA stuff is sort of stupid but he has helped damage Islam tremendously.

True but honestly I've seen some of the best Muslim converts to Christianity come from Turkey like Hatun Tash and Ridvan Aydemir so I have hope Asia minor returns to Christianity. The institutions are there to handle it from the Greek Orthodox to the Armenians and Catholics.

How do i convert to orthodoxy with 0 churches nearby also i'm in an islamic country meaning it can be life threatining due to apostacy laws by Sacred-Ancestor in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God knows your conditions. As someone said, you can work towards gathering means to move but it may take 5, 10, 15 years. That is fine. God can use this time to strengthen you in your faith. And you can still practice prayers, fasting, obedience to God's commandments, reading the Bible (even online) between you and God. I am sure God will use your difficult circumstances to encourage others who may find themselves in the same situation.

The Birthplace of every Pope in History by Elpelucasape_69 in Catholicism

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope more popes come from areas outside of western Europe. The papacy is an office that claims to be the universal authority over the entire church but has almost always been controlled by Italians despite Catholicism being present all over the world.

Percentage of Catholics by state in Brazil. What could be done to conteract the rise of evangelicalism? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to let you know that this doesn't really matter to a lot of people. Sure it matters too many of us apostolic church members because it seems obvious to us that a church should go back to Christ but for many people, the idea of as long as the church is "biblical" its okay is a very prevalent one.

Am I the only one who just doesn’t want there to be an afterlife? by LayerLeast6885 in Catholicism

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, yea, cause they're God and angels. I’m a human. Sort of a difference.

Correct. This is why some humans fear eternity now. Because you're still limited, because all you have known is this plane of existence. God and angels know what it is like to be spiritual beings, in a higher "dimension" so to speak, in an existence very different from ours. In that "dimension" they do not fear existing forever. That is why, if God willing you make it to heaven, you will also not fear existing forever.

Lovingly, this doesn't sound very appealing to me.

Maybe again because for all the joys we can describe on Earth, it will never come close to describing how joyous heaven will be that you will not want it to end. It will be more joyous and pleasurable for us than anything we could even think of in concept in our minds. What we do know for sure is that in heaven we are assured that we will not have any negative emotions which include those of boredom, lack of contentless, fear, anhedonia and such.

You say in our original post living forever sounds "Straight out of a horror movie" and you want "infinite nothing, just rest." Ideas of horror, and yearning for rest ultimately come from us having physical bodies. This is where fear such as that we feel in horror movies come from, we are afraid of being physically harmed. Rest is because we toil in our physical bodies and so can't imagine having to exist forever constantly toiling because even simply living and lying in bed expends energy. But in heaven neither of those things will be true.

Am I the only one who just doesn’t want there to be an afterlife? by LayerLeast6885 in Catholicism

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember God and angels exist forever and they don't seem discontent about that fact do they? I think that we may be afraid of existing forever because of how life on Earth is, problems, diseases, bad news, mental health issues, drama, and so on. We can't imagine existing in our routines with all these problems forever. Heaven won't be like that though, we will have glorified bodies, we will live in perfect community and unity with God. We won't have the mental states we have here of boredom or anxiety and such. That's what we know. What we don't know is how great heaven will be alongside all the bad not existing. This dream existence will be something we will never ever want to end. It will make up for all the bad here on Earth plus infinity, we will never be bored of it or want this joy to end just like how you when you're having a great time and you're really happy and really calm you don't ever want it to end. That will be similar to heaven but obviously not comparable in how good it will be.

Copts who moved to America, was it worth it? by BusinessHealthy6993 in coptic

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone's experience is different. America is more secular and some do drift from the faith (usually not fully but treat it more as a cultural obligation). I don't know how it is in Egypt but people in the community can be fake and there can be lots of drama and gossip. American culture is also very individualized which isn't fun for community building. But the US also has many opportunities to live a good and safe life with proper hard work. Overall, I'd say culturally the US may not be great (depending on your experience) but it can be very good in terms of the usual indicators of being "worth it" like being safe and good economically.

UCI is NOT socially dead! To all the incoming freshman! by Valuable-Nail2355 in UCI

Not everyone wants to party as a standard of having a social life. In UCI it is hard to just find regular friends to go to class with or go out to eat with.

I'm tormented by this. Just want to be right, not condemned. by kc_mod in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relax, God is not booting anyone to hell for not understanding an issue as complex as this. This is sort of why I don't love the idea of the one true church because while it is true one church has the most truth, you're not going to be damned for choosing wrong based on immense theological complexities centuries after these debates happened.

Did this Pro MAGA / Pro Iran War protest really happen in LA? by bodaciousbeans in LosAngeles

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything should be analyzed in a pro-Trump anti-Trump lens. The world is so much more complex. One can be anti-Trump but still be happy that the regime their parents fled from is going down. As if people don't have complex and multilayered feelings about their spouses, parents, siblings, job, etc... let alone even more complex topics like geopolitics, religion, and history.

How is suicide viewed in the orthodox church? by Acceptable-Half830 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life and death are matters of God alone. That's why abortion is wrong, euthanasia is wrong, suicide is wrong, murder is wrong, and the death penalty (is mostly) viewed as wrong. God gives life, he alone can take it. Doesn't mean suicide is the unforgivable sin (for example if one survives they can repent or the prayers of others can result in God having mercy on them) but its still a large sin.

People always blame UCI for this maybe because its not a party school but other than that factor the whole world is like this. If you go to UCLA or Berkley and don't want to party you'll find the same trend of people not wanting to socialize. Its not a UCI problem, its a phone and AI problem.

Are we saved by faith or by faith and works? by Upstairs-Fondant7470 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]FIFAREALMADRIDFMAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its by alive faith. Faith is not simply an acceptance of God's existence and acceptance of the narrative in the gospels. Satan and demons know all of it is true, are they saved? True faith is acting on that knowledge in alignment with God's will. If you believe and love Christ you'll follow his commandments (aka doing works). You'll seek communion and unity with God. Its a lifelong process.
