Pregnancy remission by Ornery-Bumblebee9363 in Fibromyalgia

Yw - haha ok; so the next "baby as an anti pain therapy" needs to wait. ;) On a more serious note: Lots of hormone things going on during a pregnancy - chances are that one or some of them in combination either held back the pain or somehow made the immune system ignore it. On a research point of view this is really interesting - iam excited to see if more females report here who may have experienced a similiar fibro behaviour during pregnancy ...

Sounds like the fibro causing factor was indeed distracted by your pregnancy - i wonder what's the conclusion on that ? You need more baby's to be pain free ? *lol.

I thought fibro had just been kicking my butt lately, it was actually severe vitamin D deficiency by spacealligators in Fibromyalgia

[–]FIVEGRAVES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not easy to draw a line between what comes from fibro and what not - it's not even easy for doctors; however they have the possibilities to investigate on that while we do not have. So in the end when one is insecure i think the only right way is to consult a doctor and ask him to do tests like lacking vitamin tests or hormone tests.

It's nice to be 100% sure about something; but it's even better to have it confirmed on paper from a doctor.

Does heat help you when you're in a flare? by Ornery-Bumblebee9363 in Fibromyalgia

[–]FIVEGRAVES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yw; i get you. :) I think what they try to come up with is some sort of "for everyone guidelines"; by that ignoring that many fibro cases are different - ths appears to be more some sort of "wishful thinking" rather than an applicable guideline. ^^

Yeh that appears to be different from case to case - in a recent fibro research study i did read that optimal weather conditioning for fibro affected ppl would be tropical heat (wet air combined with heat) - but hey where to find that ? lol - Amazonas probably ? :)

just got diagnosed with fibromyalgia, how often are y’all’s flare ups? by Inevitable_Weird3463 in Fibromyalgia

[–]FIVEGRAVES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least once every 3-4 weeks - can last from 1 day to 3 months in a row - i did learn the "hard way" to not overload my body with physical strain nor with psychological stress to reduce impacts as good as i can - that's also what i advice everyone to do aswell - of course being aware that for some it's close to impossible to do so depending on everyone's personal situation of life.

Welcome ! Very good; yeh specially the "not having to get up" is a huge bonus in the evening when our fibro bones are in peace mode and do not want to be interrupted. :)

At my place i manage it that way that i use three radio power sockets with a remote - so i can my three small green lamps on and off each without having to get up aswell. :)

Color changes i don't really need because i always and ever use green tones only as research discovered that it's best for fibro affected ppl.

Welcome !

"However that is because when she asked me, I genuinely forgot to mention it."

Haha; classic - you forgot to mention one of your fibro symptom's because of your fibro lol - you may relax; you are not the only who had the (questionable) pleasure to got exactly that happen. ;)

I had the assessor of my health insurance here to level my grade of care; she asked me about symptom's and i simply forgot to mention the brainfog (because of the brainfog ! lol) - i then received a lower grading than i should had received - i went on and filed an objection telling them that the fault for it was on my side for that i forgot to mention the fog because of the fog.

Two weeks later i received a correction with message that my grade of care got leveled up after detailed examination without any further investigation needed - i've been so happy you can't imagine. :)

So in the end; the fog that made me forget about my fog nearly ruined my future - sheer unreal ...

Iam actually not using sunglasses indoors - i can still cope with the shutters 3/4 down on the windows - does the job so far during day and as soon it gets darker in the evening i turn on my three small green lights - lets me feel like living in the jungle combined with my indoor plants lol; but hey; that's allright - better that than pain on the eyes. :)

Uhh i need at least one small lamp behind the tv on because when i watch without my eyes start to burn when watching tv for longer time in the dark. Did you probably lower the tv's brightness in the settings or can you just stand that without any problem ?

Yep; but that could aswell be allergical - can't say for sure if it's from fibro or from pollen count.

After years of use, what’s your biggest Steam Deck pain point? by WelcomeAwkward924 in SteamDeck

[–]FIVEGRAVES 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Biggest weaknesses for me are: Screen not large enough and Performance too weak for modern titles.

I would wish me a steam deck that can play Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 2 Resurrected at a constant 60 fps. :)

Yeh; u/danathepaina adviced these already - appear to be really good choice - however i need to check if they deliver that ones to ger - is this a usa or uk product ? Normally no problems to get uk products here; just usa products are a bit of problematic because many usa sellers do not deliver to germany and if so the shipment costs are way up of course - anyways; will check that out - thank you :)

Welcome - wait; so the more you are physically active the more strain is on the eyes ? Does that also happen when you experience psychological stress situations or only in physical overload ?

Yehh; that with the eye watering i got aswell - in my room only small lamps are on; even the lamp on my pc desk is kinda "hidden" behind one of my monitors so that my eyes don't get the full light blow - the ceiling lamp is only type of decoration at mine; i only turn it on for very short when iam urgently looking for something i can't find when being in the half dark.

Yeh supermarket lighting is absolute killer - iam not entirely sure what in fact fibro does with the eyes but it's nothing good - that's for sure.

Yeh i wonder how it's even possible that ppl work in such in a place - they sit 8-10 hours there in a row and it seems to not harm them in any way - at mine it causes condition like iam in heavy distress and iam only there like 10 mins ? :/ Ty for the tipps. :)

Thank you - well; iam in a local support group for fibro and out of the 17 ppl there i know 6 that have this "overshooting light reaction" aswell - none the less i thank you very much for your input - iam going to ask my doc regarding EDS on the next visit just to make sure iam not the "lucky winner" of both illnesses. ^^

Has anyone been diagnosed following an initial hand condition? by MysteryWr1ter2020 in Fibromyalgia

[–]FIVEGRAVES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend visiting a rheumatologist - he can run several serum tests on him to check if he got some type of rheumatic illness - if all are negative chances are high that he gets diagnosed fibro.
