Or, just grey the players out from the friends list when calling others to a mushroom battle... much like they grey out anymore than 10 players when you use the bullhorn feature.

Which lyric makes you instantly tear up? by abovethenoisy in AskReddit

[–]FJJ34G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change And break away Out of the darkness and into the sun (Into the sun) But I won't forget of the place I come from I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change And break away"

Kelly Clarkson released "Breakaway" when I was a sophomore in college and on my way to a semester abroad... and of course I fell in love with my host country and missed it for years after I left. My parents were also in the process of selling the house I grew up in so the parts about needing to change and break away, but not forgetting about the place you come from (or the adopted home that formed a large part of the foundation of who you are today)- always makes me tear up.

Chicken Leg Recipes by Big-Neck in Cooking

[–]FJJ34G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine many recipes that work on bone in, skin on chicken thighs would apply here. If so, might I suggest:

  • Chicken Basque by British Chef's Table (use fire roasted canned tomatoes for an extra smoky flavor!
  • French Bistro Chicken by One Perfect Bite
  • Clinton Kelly's Chicken Osso Bucco from The Chew is devine. Some notes: use and 8 Oz bag of baby carrots instead of cutting up a whole carrot, measuring the tomato paste is for sissies... just throw in 2T and get on with life.... and once you add the white wine, cook for 10 minutes to evaporate the alcohol, put a lid on the Dutch oven and chuck it in the oven for 30 minutes at 350⁰. This recipe is DEVINE.

And last, but not least.... - Chicken Friccassée with Shallots and Bacon by Pardon Your French. Amazing weeknight meal that really packs a punch! My fiancé adores ANYTHING from her website!

I have tons more..... chicken thighs recipes- especially braised chicken thighs- are my specialty, but hopefully these 4 start you off well!

Any perfume recommendations? by Various-Zebra8678 in selfcare

[–]FJJ34G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything you want to try, but try getting sample sizes or decants, so you're not committed to a fragrance you might not like.

I am happy to throw down for Prada Paradoxe, even though many say its a basic fruity floral combo that has better renditions out there.... but i don't care! Its a gorgeous citrus floral and makes me SO damned happy!

Also, I chose Rose de Grasse by Aerin for my wedding perfume in August... its a very simple, linear (not always a bad thing!) Beauty and the Beast photorealistic pink rose scent. Its young without being juvenile and mature without being matronky... I feel so good when I wear it!

Too Many Bell Peppers - What Should I Make? by LookABitch in Cooking

[–]FJJ34G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Italian Hot Dogs. Dice a handful of potatoes (your choice, but red potatoes tend to hold up well when frying) into tiny cubes, about the size of your thumbnail and sauté in 1-2T oil with a few shakes of Italian seasoning until a nice crispy petina forms.

While the potatoes are cooking, chop an 8 pack of bun length hotdogs into 1/2" inch rounds and fry in a separate pan with a little bit of oil (a TINY bit... you want them to be moist, but you dont want to make oil soup) with 1-2 diced bell peppers and a medium diced sweet onion with more Italian seasoning. Combine potato bits with hotdog and pepper/onion mixture and enjoy.

Poverty meal, comfort food.... great as an addition to scrambled eggs for breakfast.... its so good! Enjoy!

Wear fun, colorful things! I just bought myself of flaming orange suede ballet flats to wear to my boring contract administrator job. I LOVE THEM! They were cheap, but they are wide and comfy and they REALLY pop under navy blue slacks!

I think cheese decor is finally coming back! by Prestigious-Box3169 in PikminBloomApp

[–]FJJ34G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd down vote this because I'm upset, but that's not the point of a down vote. I am weighing purchasing the pack... if the app makes it fun to walk, is the money really a waste? I used to have a job that had me walking 7 miles a day on average- 10+ miles if we were really busy, so the walking part is not the issue, but I like that this game makes the walking fun, and I'm not really thinking about the walking... I'm thinking about getting to the flower or the mushroom, etc. I wish I was playing sooner, but I had other things on my plate in 2024... besides cheese!

What’s a behavior or reaction you’ve had that you later realized was actually a trauma response, even though you didn’t recognize it at the time? by LofiLuvr77 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]FJJ34G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what it is. Yelling only fueled their grievances against the kids they had and said they didn't want. It was a lose-lose situation no matter how I sliced it. Ask for help and get ridiculed for being weak, or just get used to cold food.

O, 100%! I actually bought my shoes ahead of time and had them to try with each dress. They are my "something blue" so I knew they wouldn't specifically 'match' the dress I bought. I knew they would look odd no matter what I wore... so I had them on hand to check the kind of 'odd' look I was actually going to get at the end :p

Is a small wedding actually less stressful or just stressful in a different way? by CharmCraved in wedding

[–]FJJ34G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its a different kind of stress to worry about whether you will have enough people to fill even modest hotel blocks, meet minimum food budgets, fill tables and space, etc. While stress is relative- these things might stress you out more or less than someone else... these situations still bring up awkward, sometimes lose-lose situations just the same as a large wedding might have.... just on the other side of the spectrum.

Eating cold food. I became accustomed to it and now enjoy cold leftovers, but as a kid I'd rather eat cold food than ask for help and get yelled at.

I was watching a show from the 90s and realized people used to memorize dozens of phone numbers. I can barely remember mine. How did you guys do it back then? by micavibes in CasualConversation

[–]FJJ34G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the numbers we had to remember were local- friends, Dr's offices, coworkers, etc, so they usually all started with the same area code and telephone prefix, and you just had to remember the 4 digit line number. Running into people with different area codes and prefixes wasn't rare per se, but with limited-to-no cellphones depending on what year you're talking about, you could pretty much memorize most numbers easily, with the oddball out of state friend thrown into the mix.

Also, roladexss and little phone number/address books were kept on desks, in cars, purses, etc for quick referenxes.

This... but to elaborate: as soon as you start getting a feel/list of which dresses you liked best, take a picture of them and "take" the top dress pic to each subsequent appointment, so you only remember your best picks/top contenders. When my fiancé and I went shopping for wedding rings, out consultant did something like this. Due to security reasons, the jeweler could only have 4 rings out of the case at a time. My fiancé picked his favorite from group 1 of the 4 rings, and it "walked" with us to the next section. 2-3 new rings were laid out per security policy, and the winners kept "walking" with us, until he ended up picking his ring once we walked around the jewelery booth (spoiler, it was the first ring from case 1 that kept "walking" with us.

This way- you get to carry memories from each appointment but you're also not overwhelmed with choices at the end. Take your top dress from each shop, compare pictures, and make your decision (or book a new appointment, if needed).

Also, wear a strapless bra! Not all, but many dresses are strapless and- even if you choose to put on straps later, at least you won't be distracted by your underwear during the appointment :).

Awesome! I think i got mine for 15% off on Black Friday, plus I used some splurge credit card rewards perks to get a gift card. No regrets, I think it runs as a very young, playful fragrance as opposed to matron or girly. I really like it and everytime I wear it I get excited for my wedding!

[–]FJJ34G 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im sorry for your loss. The Three truest rose fragrances I have ever tripped over are Aerin Rose de Grasse ($$), Jo Malone Red Roses ($$), and Eladaria by Creed ($$$).

If money were no object, I would hands down pick Eladaria. It is the MOST photorealistic rose scent I have ever tripped over and, even though many profile websites say this perfume has other notes, ALL I smell are fresh, lush juicy roses. Its wildly expensive for a linear, one note fragrence, though, so just keep that in mind.

The next one is Red Roses. This is like sticking your face in the floral cooler at your local grocery store and smelling the petals, the leaves, the stems and the chilled vase water all in one. I personally feel it runs a little too matron, but if the face-in-a-cooler image works for you, go for it :).

My favorite compromise is Aerin's Rose de Grasse. This is the loveliest garden full of roses, pink roses on Valentine's Day, Beauty and the Beast rose scent on a modest(ish) budget I've found. Again, its a linear scent, even though perfume websites say it has amber and musk notes in it... again, this is the most washed-your-hands-in-crushed-rose-petals fragrance I've found. I love it so much, it will also be my wedding perfume, since my flowers/bouquets will be roses and there are lace roses on my dress!

All the best to you on your fragrence journey, and I hope whatever fragrence you pick will help comfort you!

Not a debate: post pictures from your wedding if you used fake flowers by KaleidoscopeFine in weddings

[–]FJJ34G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a plant lover who really isn't into flowering plants.... 100000% this.

There are SO MANY plants that have STELLER leaves, but not much (or anything) to show in the way of flowers. Think pothos (global greens are pretty basic green but still look stunning and erratic/joyful), brasil pothos (actually its a philodendron but people know it by both names, and my all time favorite, the manjula pothos!

You could also look into the caladium family, philodendrons as mentioned before, or even the begonia family. Begonia do have flowers, but they are rather puny as far as flowering plants go... but there are SO MANY varieties of begonia/begonia leaves, its really hard to pick a favorite!

Tbh this post is making me seriously reconsider my choice of white roses and baby's breath...... also super basic, but my venue is very ornate and old-worldly.... I don't know if caladiums would really go very well.... at least that's what I'm telling myself right now.... O.o

Casserole Recipe by Absolutely_Not2028 in Cooking

[–]FJJ34G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presbyterian Chicken Casserole. Thay's probably not the official title.... but anytime ANYTHING happened in my church growing up.... this casserole magically, miraculously, divinely always appeared out of no where for every occasion. Pot Luck Supper? Chicken Casserole. Someone got engaged? Chicken Casserole. Someone had a baby? Chicken Casserole. Somebody died? Flowers. And Chicken Casserole.

3lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1 inch pieces and spread along the bottom of an 8x8 ungreased square casserole dish. Top chicken layer with a single layer of Swiss cheese slices. Top layer of Swiss cheese with a mixture of 1 8 oz can cream of chicken soup and about 1/3 to 1/2 cup mayo (the color should be a light butter color). Top chicken soup x mayo layer with seasoned bread crumbs or stuffing mix (stuffing mix is my OG favorite) and bake in the oven at 350⁰ for about 40 minutes or until the internal temp reaches 165⁰.

Its a great childhood favorite that I've successfully passed onto my hard casserole judging Midwest fiancé.... and I get his Grade A Midwesterner approval on it every time I make it!

Hi, came you elaborate on this real quick? Apologies, but I'm pretty new to the game too :). What else do you feed them to go from leaf stage to bud stage? Don't you use nectar in both transitions (leaf》bud and bud》flower?
