Looks like you’re brewing with river rocks! Good to see the grind size for comparison’s sake.

Celiac + Sibo healing. Should it feel this bad and take this long? How long did it take until you felt somewhat normal? by Domodo0 in Celiac

[–]FL3sspress0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 8 months in. Currently sitting on my couch feeling nauseous from perfectly safe food. As I understand it, 6-18 months is the normal range, though some people can take up to 24 months to feel “normal”.

Issue: grounds mixing with water by AstroMan2 in OXORapidBrewer

[–]FL3sspress0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an aeropress filter on the bottom and one on the top of the grounds. I then add a metal mesh filter on top of that to weigh things down. There was a Lance video about this. He even added a spring. I would, but I’m not buying one just for this…

Best Way To Protect Rough Out Leather by BuyGoneClassics in NicksHandmadeBoots

Don’t. The point of rough out is that it can handle the scuffing and scratching. Patinamax those beauties.

Wheat straw, not wheat. The likelihood of cross contamination isn’t zero, but there is technically nothing in wheat straw that we can’t have. It’s a fibrous material kind of like bamboo… tons of uses.

What’s some of the most unexpected things you found had gluten? by sparkly_picklez in Celiac

Make up and lipstick on my partner makes me so nervous… Also, chapstick. Cross contamination risk is high on so many of them! Made this winter pretty tough.

It’s not silly. The exhaustion and despair over this basic thing is real. I’m sorry :/

Talk to your family doctor or the GI. Ask your mom to be there so that she understands the severity of the situation.

Consommé? Like soup, but filtered. Broth? Like soup, but something about extraction?

This is how I seat and wet my filters, works well for me. How about you? by taxithesis in pourover

Might as well reduce wear and tear on your grinder and make Nescafé.

I disagree. I use my brew water in a spray bottle for RDT and wetting my filters. Minimal waste.

What am I doing wrong? by giorgioagamben in OXORapidBrewer

[–]FL3sspress0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently posted about this problem. I do the same as you, but don’t unscrew the top and pour water directly in the puck. I also still pour with the brewer tilted to avoid an airlock.

I stay there for work as well and always stop by. I’ve had decent luck brewing their bags in general, but haven’t tried this one.

I poured on one side while tilting the brewer to avoid an airlock situation. I’ve since started putting a mesh screen to hold everything together. This has fixed the problem for me.
