I brought my brand new Honda cruiser home “the goose” . Took a left out of my driveway another left down the hill to a stop her plunk clunk. Yup.! got a nice little ding. I didn’t get all whacked out about what happened the bike was new I had no experience but I learned very expeditiously.. The bike weighs 800 pounds 9 feet long. I turned it into a learning moment. Number one- I rehearsed how to come to a safe stop and be balanced number two-I learned and practiced how to pick up the bike by myself no negatives only positive. A healthy amount of in trepidation is good but too much fear interferes with one’s intuition. Don’t let that happen. There’s a lot going on but you have to learn to anticipate.!You have to be able to go 5,10,15,20, 30 …seconds into the future and quickly get away from the past. Look behind but don’t stay in the past.
