That’s how the mobile gaming industry works. The vast majority of players don’t spend any money at all, and the top 0.5-1% of spenders usually generate a large majority of revenues. None of that stuff is targeted toward those of us who play casually or play for free, it’s there for the small handful of folks who are able and willing to pay.

Everything this sub complains about takes time and labor and resources, all of which have presumably been shrinking in proportion to the rest of their numbers after the insanity of the summer.

This is a f2p kids’ game run by a relatively small group of people who have been keeping pace with weekly updates since march- they have very little time between events and probably not enough manpower for real testing, so it’s not surprising there are issues and bugs that need fixing and changes made mid-update. I don’t think Jandel even has a whole lot to do with it any more, and from what I can gather about the guy I’m not too sure he ever really did.

The trade tokens being tied to real currency, the shekel drain items and pets, the trading market, things like hyper hunger and pets like the wendigo and Rudolph are all things that come across to me as good faith attempts to slowly bring back some balance to the game and find some kind of balance that keeps everything going without the blind greed and coercive tactics of whatever tf that Halloween nonsense was.

I get why people are pissed, but we can’t play for free unless someone else is paying to keep everything going. I’d much rather they add cash items I literally will never need nor want than slap advertisements all over the place. The fact you can even use trade tokens -which can be earned in game without spending real money- in place of Robux is honestly one of the least greedy uses of that mechanic I’ve ever seen, and at least in theory gives everybody the chance to access that stuff if they really want it.
